Is 36 for the waist, inseam, or both?

I believe the 36 should be for the waist size. I bought the pants in a size 40w and 32L. The 32 is the inseam so if the product just has one number, I believe it’s for the waist.

Do they shrink after a while?

Not that I notice. I wear them everyday for work, and they are extremely flexible. If they did shrink I stretched them back out again! Very durable!

Do these have the pocket between the front and back pockets on the right side? Like the payload pant has? Thanks in advance!

No. They do not. They have double front pocket on the right hand side.
