Nikon Coolpix AW110 Shock & Waterproof GPS Digital Camera (Orange) (Renewed)

I purchased this camera as a replacement for one that I used for many years and lost it recently during the trip to Bolivia. If you are adventure traveler and need a camera that you can take anywhere and get a good pictures this is it. It is actually waterproof. I used it while snorkeling and diving, it is waterproof and takes good underwater pictures. It has different shooting modes to cover some difficult conditions like back-light, sunsets, snow, closeups and it does good job on recording short videos. It is pricey but it will deliver a good quality pictures and survive the most demanding conditions.

Honestly this review is not so much for the camera (which seems to produce ok images) it is because I have spent over 5 hrs trying to figure it out and get the images off the camera onto a computer. There is no provided manual and the online one is really confusing to reference. Nikon does have pretty decent customer service when you call up but it still hasn't resolved my problem and there was no mention that you had to have a memory card to transfer images. Everything suggests that the images can be stored on the camera (without a memory card) and then transferred directly...turns out that is wrong and now the memory card doesn't seem to work to get the original images off the camera uploaded to the computer. Honestly I'm so over trying to figure this camera out it's lost it's thrill. If you are tech savvy you will probably have an easier time, but for someone looking for a user friendly camera this one seems a bit hard to figure out.

I have an AW110 that I purchased two years ago and use it for work taking as many as 700 photos a day. I have used several different models of CoolPix cameras for eight years doing insurance work. The AW110 that I bought new has lasted three time longer than any previous CoolPix model and is still going strong. I purchased this refurbished AW110 as a backup, just in case, from Beach Camera. It is factory refurbished and looks like it was never used. I immediately checked it out to make sure all of the features I regularly use such as the Wi-fi, GPS, Altimeter all work, and they do; and it arrived on time. This is a great camera, is extremely durable and is an all around great value.
