Big AgnesCopper Spur HV UL Series + HV mtnGLO Footprint

Quality is fine but I ordered a Copper spur 2 footprint and the clips did not work. It turns out I had a 2020 tent but the footprint was a 2018.....not good. Frustrating. why they would not standardize their hardware ..........? and frustrating that there was not some sort of compatibility note in the Amazon description.

This is a good product and is the right size but doesn't fit the Copper Spur UL 2 clips. The female ends on this are a different size than the clips on the Copper Spur UL 2. I wasn't aware that I had order the "platinum" edition of the footprint until I got into the woods and forced the clips together. I thought I was going to break one getting them apart. If ordering, make sure you get the correct footprint to go with your tent. I don't know why they would have slightly different clip sizes but it's a pain.

2018 and 2020, hard to know which one is which. I had a 2018model and I think the HV UL2 Hotel MtGlo has slightly better fit than HV UL2 MtGlo. Yes, it is subtle.There are three factors for the “2018” version as shown. 1, size is slightly smaller at the grey side. 2, there is a seam not one piece. 3, the tag has something 2017 in it.Unlike footprint from REI, this footprint is slightly smaller in size while the size of the straps is larger than the tent. Thus the footprint will float underneath instead of stretched taut. One may need to trim off an inch for better fit.Comparing to $10 self made footprint from Tyvek, this one is expensive but I put my trust in Big Agnes.Finally HV UL2 can use footprint as quick pitch.

Purchased off a wedding registry, I hope they like it. If you buy off the registry, does the recipient find out who sent the gift? Well, anyway, I like my Big Agnes tent, and feel that the footprint is worth it to protect your investment in your tent, even though they are really expensive for what they are.

If you own the one person tent which is super light and a great tent then spring for this protective pad. This pad is thin, super light, and will add that additional critical protection for the tent. This pad has 4 grommets that the tent poles fit into. So when you move the free standing this pad moves with the tent. Expensive but probably worth it. I recommend!

Packs up to the size of a disposable 12oz water bottle. Just used for a 12-day Alaskan camping trip where it rained everyday for hours on end. Saved our tent floor floor from rips and water.

The footprint fits the Copper Spur UL2 just fine and gives the extra protection to the tent floor. It is nice and light with a small pouch to store it in.
