Susannah Spurgeon

I purchased this for a friend who was going to have shoulder surgery. She couldn't wait to read it and began before her surgery; she loves it. It is a beautiful read and very encouraging, especially considering Susannah Spurgeon suffered physically, and still she wrote a lovely book to help those who know the Lord keep their eyes heavenward.

I am delighted with this book. Our family has had one trial after another over the last 3 months, financial, major medical, car repair... Reading the truths of God's sovereign grace, love, and care has been so healing and reassuring. The writings of Sussannah are remarkable.

Such command of the language. Wonderful ability to put her thoughts into words of praise to God.Fantastic ability to communicate to God's heart and ours. Praise God for Susannah Spurgeon and thank Him for giving us this gem of a book. Great gift. The kind of book worthy of reading and rereading and using for devotions.

Got to know the Spurgeon's in homelike. They were both very bright and Bible scholars. Loved how one so devoted and close to her husband also felt her failures. Really appreciated her prayers.

I love this book! My daughters and I would read one chapter from the bio and one from the devo while having tea. Very convicting and challenging!

Free Grace and Dying Love - The Life of Susannah Spurgeon is a fabulous book to read. She had her trials and tribulations throughout her marriage to Charles but was always able to overcome them through her deep faith in Jesus Christ and her Christian beliefs.

I am back buying 3 more copies! She writes with such depth & sweet sentiment. It is easy to remember her devotionals long after reading them just once. She definitely writes from her heart as well as her head.

Charles Spurgeon is a favorite of mine. I was curious what his wife was like. Truly and honest, inspiring Christian woman for me to emulate.

Full of good stuff, actually two books in one. Her biography, very interesting and readable, and her own devotional, wisdom for the day.
