## Overview

The Vic Firth 12" Double-Sided Practice Pad offers drummers a premium, portable solution with two realistic rubber surfaces for varied rebound and volume control. Crafted with a durable wooden base, it ensures stability and longevity, making it ideal for low-volume practice on the go or at home. Trusted by professionals, this pad fits most snare stands and delivers authentic stick response to keep your skills sharp anytime, anywhere.

## Description

Drummers need to be able to practice, but many times it needs to happen away from the kit, either at low volume or while on the go. Vic Firth's Double-Sided Practice Pads set the standard for drumming practice with a portable, two-surface pad that helps keep your chops sharp, whether you’re perfecting a new piece of music, or working on stick control. Even when played with full force at the loudest dynamic, this pad absorbs the blows and controls the volume for longer and later practice. One side features a softer. The other side has a harder black rubber surface with slightly more volume, quick rebound and tight articulation ideal for marching and rudimentary practice. Play on any surface, drum or right in your lap. The durable wooden base keeps this pad in place. The 12” size also fits most snare stands for convenient practice. The trademark Vic Firth logo is printed on top, showing the world you’re playing with the right feel. Made in the USA.

Review: Very good pad - Very good pad to use. Very durable and both sides great to play on.
Review: It's a good one. - This is built to last. It is mechanically stable, and the sound has a sharp focus. You can make your own judgment about the liveliness of the bounce, but I find it excellent for practice purposes. It blends well with others like it, so your drum line can practice all together. A nice feature is the suitability for use with widely varying stick weights. This pad works best on a stand, but it is also OK on a table. It won't migrate with vibration, nor will it transmit shock to the supporting surface. I'm not sure why it's configured dodecahedronally, but that doesn't bother me. After all, drummers aren't supposed to be very smart. They just consider themselves lucky to be allowed to hang out with musicians. [Ha, ha... stereotype!]. Anyway, a separate case for this might be nice, but it will likely fit inside a solid side snare case right on top of the drum itself. Try not to spill sugary beverages on the playing surfaces; and if you do, clean off the residue with diluted dish soap or Goo-Gone. I've seen some older pads that have started to delaminate. However, this one looks likely to last. If it does begin to separate, a little Plio-Bond should solve the problem. That's a rubber cement that dries springy instead of rock hard. Finally, remember, "the beat goes on!"

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this one better than the real feel pad?**
A: I have both and I think they are both great. The Vic firth has a little more bounce I think so it depends on what you want. I love both

**Q: Does it have a rim**
A: No sure what you mean by rim... the pad part of the drumming pad is bulged out just like any standard drumming pad.

**Q: What kind of a stand do I need? Can you lead me in the right direction of what type I need.**
A: A snare stand will work. You don't actually need any sort of stand. It can be placed on anything. If you like to sit and play, make sure you get a stand that will allow you to lower it low enough so you can sit and play comfortably. I don't know a ton about stands, sorry.

**Q: is the back side just meant to be louder, or does it serve some other purpose?**
A: One side is quieter than the other but it also is a softer playing service and simulates a lower tension surface like a tom. This way you can develop your chops!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for battery percussion
*by G***N on May 28, 2022*

If you are a newbie or a veteran battery marcher, this is the drum pad for you. Each impact into the rubber is just loud enough to be audible yet will not disturb others close to you. I live in a house with 3 others and I use this pad 1-5 hours a day and I get no complaints. I have used this pad for about 3 months now on a consistent basis and have seen no damage to the rubber. This is a great pad that seems incredibly durable, whether I’m using thick wooded marching sticks or thin drum kit sticks, it feels as perfect as I would like. Please if you are a beginner or a pro drummer, Get This Pad.
