I love this journal. It is well made, smells nice, and feels very good in my hand. I love the size, as it will fit into my purse or be easy to carry around in my hand. It has a beautiful, simple and rustic look. The strap, although a bit too long (I cut it down a bit) wraps around the book to keep it securely closed. The pages are a nice cream color to keep with the antique theme and are nice and smooth to write on. However, my only quibble is that the pages allow for ghosting--that is, though the pen ink I use doesn't bleed through, you can really see it enough through the pages that I can only write on one side of the page. So, if you are an artist, this will be a huge problem. I only use this book to write story ideas down in, so it's not a big deal for me. I am a bit annoyed I can only use half of the pages, though. But to be fair, this journal was pretty inexpensive, and overall the quality is good. Just a problem with ghosting.UPDATE 9/7/2020: I switched to another pen using different ink, and there is not as much ghosting. So the prominence of ghosting depends on what ink you use (I switched from Pilot gel ink to KWZ fountain pen ink). I added another star to the review, as the quality of the book just increased for me.

The journal is FAKE LEATHER! I try to test the leather by burning it, and it immediately caught on fire and smell like burning plastic. Real leather doesn’t catch on fire. And I asked for a refund without return it, and THEY DOESn’T ALLOW ME TO GET FULL REFUND.

The craftsmanship of the leather cover is of good quality. The paper used is also of good quality and serves its purpose.The long leather strapping is a nuisance, but does add a sense of specialness to the product.While this is a very usable product, one must enjoy the ‘romance’ of its design.

I bought these for my kids who like to draw and they are fantastic, especially for the price. They come in a nice box, the leather is soft and pliable, and the paper is heavy weight and good for multiple mediums. One of the best things I've ever purchased online.

Not as thick as the images show but it’s not flimsy ! Only about 20 pages off from what the pic shows.The paper is pretty thick thoughOtherwise it’s sturdy and comfortable.The leather is smooth and soft. Would make a perfect gift! It’s very nice to hold
