I'm glad I did
I have to admit that I have never polished a lick of concrete before tackling the poured-in-place counter top for my outdoor kitchen currently under construction. I don't fancy myself a concrete finisher, so I was a little concerned about the imperfections I would need to overcome. As a DIY'er, the cost of granite was excruciatingly ridiculous so I decided to save some bucks, try something different and get a new tool to boot! After reading several reviews, I kept coming back to the DAMO Diamond Tools 4" concrete polisher. I'm glad I did. The price was right, it came with all of the graduated grinding pads I needed to polished my hunk of concrete to a silky smooth consistency and it really was relatively easy to use. The project came out great. I also give DAMO big kudos for standing behind their product. During the grind, I tripped my GFI outlet and set my new grinder down to go reset the breaker. Unfortunately, I forgot to turn the tool to off and once electricity was restored it spun off the counter and the handle was broken. DAMO sent me out a replacement part within a few days...no charge! Great grinder from a great company.

Great product for the money
As a stone specialist our company uses pneumatic polishers however I needed somthing for my home & personal use. I've seen and used almost every brand polisher on the market. Many more expensive units do virtually the same thing. This Damo is solid and well constructed. It came with both style handles and a splash guard. Only draw backs are its weight vs other polishers (gets abusive after a long day of fabrication) and the chuck release button to change out the bits. Some polishers are easier and don't require the wrench to swap out bits. If quality, value and made in the usa are what u need, this is a good wet polisher to use.

Works well
I purchased this to polish concrete countertops and fireplace heart. After reading several reviews of people complaining about motor failure or electric shock from various brands including this one I surmised that people were probably using the tool improperly so I went to the manufacturer website which recommended using only enough water to keep the concrete wet but not so much as to splash water all over the tool. Makes sense when you consider water and electricity don't mix well water inside the motor will also damage the motor internally. So having armed myself with the proper information on usage I had great success with this tool hopefully it will be a good tool for a long time.

This machine is great and I use it on every job
I do marble and stone refinishing and polishing. This machine is great and I use it on every job. I use it mostly on low to medium speeds, and it has great torque. The pads are the same as the 5 inch Rival pads that I order from the supply store I order things from. Some people may complain about getting an electricity shock from it, but as long as you use the protective rubber guard that comes with it, and keep water out of the motor housing, you should have no issues.

Poorly designed on/off switch
Overall a quality tool, however the on/off switch is spring loaded, meaning to have to keep a finger or thumb on the switch during operation, which is extremely inconvenient.

Worked great for cutting a bullnose on porcelain tile.
Plenty of power. The variable speed control works nicely. Water valve is sturdy and securely mounted. All in all, a nice tool. Like any of these small Water cooled stone working tools, be prepared to gear wet.

The shutoff valve is leaking.
The shutoff valve is leaking. The worst part is the shut off valve is located very close to the speed control and water can go insideof the electric and can give you a electric shock. It happened to me when I stopped and put the grinder outside down and the water from the faulty leaking valve intruded into the speed control. The shutoff valve is leaking.

Must have for concrete countertops
I have used this for one bathroom sink/counter and a large fire table. It was awesome. Make sure you keep the water spray from getting in the motor. Recommend buying extra pads right away because if you’re taking down a lot of stuff the heavy grits wear down fast.
