Predators and Institutions
For me, this book is amazingly informative based on just one chapter, "Institutions and Families: When Good People Do Bad Things." On page 98, Casteix, citing Navarro, explains why predators are drawn to institutions such as families, churches and schools--where they will be tolerated. In institutions, predators of high rank will be respected, institutions provide access to children, and institutions will do everything they can to protect their reputation. Most of us happily join an institution. Casteix provides questions to consider before joining an institution (pp 99-100).

Focus on prevention, signs, grooming by person familiar to the child--the vast majority of cases.
Good tips. Seemed like it filled an unusual niche. Prevention is better than cure here and it breaks down stereotypes/typical fears of the very rare stranger abduction or assault to help the parent see signs of 'grooming' in the child which usually takes place over a period of weeks or months.

I especially liked the author's chapter on "Grooming
"The Well Armored Child" is loaded with important information about how to protect your child from sexual abuse. I especially liked the author's chapter on "Grooming: The Predators Gateway." Most parents would not have a clue if their child was being targeted. This book is a must read for anyone who cares about the safety of kids.
