1 3/4 inch straight up from the bottom but2 1/4 inch from the edge slanting to the bottom. I hope that makes sense!

Q: - Is this cake pan nonstick?

I am not sure that I would call this a cake pan - it is a fry pan/skillet. In any case, it is all stainless with no type of non-stick coating. I am sure if you use Pam that would solve the problem.

Q: what is the height of the pan?

Approx. 2" My pan is 8" not 10"

Q: I have (and love) the 10" & 12" french skillets. should i get the fry pans as well? these have more sloped sides, right? better for omelettes i think?

Hi, I looked at the skillet and I believe the sides are higher than the sides on the fry pan. I use my daily and it is great for omelets. I also use mine for stir fries. It's is a major work horse in my kitchen. I think you'll like it. It also cleans up nicely.
