ISEE Upper Level: 2500+ Practice Questions

There's not much excitement that goes into studying for a 3 hour test. However if you dissect the different sections of the book, it is well organized. I am helping my 8th grader study for 9th grade, and of course it's difficult because some of the questions are hard. Again that is the point of the test, to test how much they know and what sort of knowledge power they have behind them. With a little bit of practice, the answer key helps of course and so do 3 practice tests at the end of the book. I think if you break it down, it is not so overwhelming.

This prep program is a complete study guide for any student preparing the high school entrance exam, ISEE.Thousands of practice questions which seem to have given my relative the confidence and information to do well on her test. I have purchased this prep course for a student preparing for the exam. I also liked that they can access a video if they need further explanation. I only wish that this assistance was available when I was in school.

I purchased both books from Elevate Prep ( "2500+ Questions" and "Notes and Practice Tests" books) for our son's ISEE upper-level test prep. Both books are well organized and have tons of questions. I strongly recommend purchasing video lessons that explain the problems in the book in detail. Our son used the video lessons to supplement the books, especially for Math and received 95% in the real test's Quantitative section. He is extremely happy about the books from Elevate Prep. Also, when he did not understand an explanation or a question, he emailed the publisher. The author of the books, Lisa, was so helpful with her explanations and clarifications. I also recommend visiting Elevate Prep's website to download free colorful formula sheets that my son finds helpful.I strongly recommend the both books for a valuable resource for ISEE Upper level test prep.

This book is a home run!! I'm a math tutor who works with kids of all ages and have seen/used dozens of prep books over the years. This book is well organized and has a wide array of both routine and more challenging problems covering many content areas. I have used it both for standardized test preparation and simply to work on foundational skill-building and/or problem-solving strategies. I actually stumbled upon it by accident and feel very fortunate that I did. I would HIGHLY recommend it for both tutors and parents who are looking for the right mathematics resource for their child.

I've been tutoring for the ISEE for well over a decade, so anytime a new book is published, I greedily snap up "the next best thing" to use with my students. Unfortunately, this book is not that. Don't let the cover fool you -- there are so many reasons this book is subpar.My biggest gripe is that this book does NOT have "2500+" ISEE problems. The ISEE is an entirely multiple choice test, except for the essay. Over 1,000 of the math problems in this book are NOT isee problems (and yes, I actually counted, just to be sure). Page after page of general, open-ended math problems, often with 20 or more problems on a single page. Page 16 alone has 40 math problems of the 2500 "isee" problems. Seriously? The internet is filled with thousands of worksheets where you'll find the exact same content for free. When I got the book, I just flipped page after page and couldn't believe what I was seeing.Also, there are no answer explanations to anything. To be honest, as a tutor, I don't really need the answer explanations, but I know most kids and parents do. But the thing that really got me was the fact that the main reason I bought this book was because of their promise of 2500 ISEE problems, when there are actually closer to half that many in the book. Unscrupulous.

I purchased this practice book along with their online video course for my youngest child. The book is fantastic. Comprehensive, easy to use, clearly formatted and focused, it has more than enough practice problems for my son to work through, and I'm confident the problems are preparing him for the questions that will show up on the test. As for the online course, I was a bit skeptical about having my son prepare online, but Elevate Prep’s course is great. The explanation videos are short enough that he doesn’t lose focus and the instructor explains the concepts in a way that is easy for him to understand.

This book offered a number of challenging questions that mimicked the real test - one of the best practice tests I've found so far. If you're looking for a book that offers a full range of questions, at a variety of levels, I highly recommend.

Practice questions are challenging and realistic... perfect to get ready for the real thing. Book is organized in neat sections that make it easy to work thru without being too overwhelmed. A must buy for anyone looking to improve their score on the ISEE!
