Hoping for a kid-friendly one-wheeled electric skateboard
First to note, I'll probably be returning this. Background: I have a OneWheel, a different, much larger and more expensive board. I snowboard but live in FL and would like my kids to build their confidence in riding one foot in front of the other, unlike a hoverboard. The Surfwheel (which this is technically not that brand, it is a Urban HX, albeit the description says it's a Surfwheel, what comes is an Urban HX...this indeed is a review of what they sent me).Opening the box. The box is nice, well padded and good graphics to give it a 'quality' feel. The board is very dense, heavier than it looks and a challenge for my kids to tote, albeit they do it successfully over short distances.Getting on the board, the instructions are very disclaimer-heavy, and very minimal about how to ride it. When I got it, I thought it was dead on arrival...no battery power whatsoever. I did some digging on the internet (yes this should have been in the manual but it wasn't) and it looks like you have to plug it in, turn on the power button-switch, and roll the wheel a bit to turn on any indication of it charging or lighting up anywhere. Then I downloaded the app, which is NOT "Surfwheel", it's RideHX in iOS. The manual says to read the instructions which are supposed to be online--they're not there, just some videos to get you hyped up about riding. Minimum age is 14 without adult supervision, no minimum with. Max weight is 170s, no minimums given.Riding. My kids rode it inside at first with a rope near them to break any potential falls and get used to balancing before any potential face-planting on the pavement. The wheel is fat enough for lateral stability. The motor is jerky at low speeds consistent with other reviewers Youtube videos, and at any speed, without lifting either foot, it just nosedives after about a minute (yes full battery, consistent pressure on the sensor, no sudden operator movements). Since these stops were at relatively low speed, no injuries occurred. We tried to see what was causing this..we tried a stomp, we tried extremes of heel-toe rises, to no avail, it was an inherent board defect. Not sure if this was unique to the board I bought or not.Design influences riding. This is not a OneWheel. Surfwheel/UrbanHX (SU) is lower to the ground, so I figured it would be better for kids, however my kids do MUCH better on the OneWheel (O) where the minimum age (supervision or not) is supposed to be 14. At 1/3 the price, I was hoping the SU was going to be similar but smaller, but the design really limits that. So the SU board itself almost the same length as the O, but the SU wheel is much smaller, and so that long board-to-wheel ratio means the board will hit the pavement on the slightest incline or bump and potentially send the rider to kiss the pavement.Other misc things: it has lights on both sides. The instructions were vague as to which side is front-facing. Both ends have holes for handles (good). The battery is lithium but removable--whatever that means to airlines who knows. The support team wasn't easy to identify. I went to the website and called the contact number, only to get a call from a lady in Australia saying that's not their distributor's product if purchased from Amazon. What this needs to become a favorable product: either larger wheel or shorter board or both, more stable motor that doesn't just nosedive while you're going forward, better instructions, clearer distinction on purchase that it is UrbanHX not Surfwheel, a QR code to download the appropriate app, and a way better website with actual manuals you can read. The support team should also be easy to find by email or phone (they were not). Sorry Surfwheel or UrbanHX people...I really wanted to like this.

Board was not surfwheel brand - was a Urban HX brand
The product they sent is not an actual surfwheel brand single wheel electric skateboard. It is a cheaper knock off with lower speed and lower weight restrictions. to capitalize on all of that we could not get it to turn on or work. My son was heart broken. We have ordered an actual Surwheel now.Note: Seller did reach out, and explained that both products are comparable.

Do Not Buy!!
Received the first unit, and it was dead. Tried contacting customer service, tried resetting the unit, tried the grand knowledge of google, all with the same result.....unit was dead. Opened up the battery compartment and saw the battery was produced in December 2018. That means this product has been sitting in a warehouse for 18 months? It is important to note the product seemed to be a "Return" when I opened it. Opted for a replacement, because my daughter was very excited about this thing. Received the new unit and it seemed to be New. But, what a surprise, exact same problem, unit was dead, didn't charge, didn't show any sign life. When going through the return process on Amazon it didn't even give me the option for a replacement......because even they know this is a piece of crap.

Super fun
Great electric board! Heavy, but Really sturdy build. Good design minus a couple minor things. Takes a little getting used to, but once you do it a super fun ride on a smooth surface.

Still waiting for refund
Still waiting for my refund. This was the 2nd board that worked only for a day or 2. My daughter is waiting patiently for her birthday money to be refunded.

Awesome Product!
I just received the board for my sons bday and experienced the same thing that another purchaser did as far as not receiving an actual Surfwheel. Instead I received an off brand. This is false advertising.Spoke with the company (creator) and he explained that they made two editions when they released. They just have different name and packaging but are same product. My son is enjoying the product and I have updated my review in kind.
