It's awesome. I have a Windows 8 laptop with more ...
Oh my gosh! It's awesome. I have a Windows 8 laptop with more memory than the old pc this Optiplex replaced. The Windows 8 is so slow. My old pc had Linux on it and was fast! This Optiplex is just as fast. I'm not a techie, but I've used quite a few computers from the old days to present. This is my favorite so far. Don't be afraid to buy it. My grandson (a real techie) said only the case is refurbished. You will not get a computer with as much in memory, processors, etc. for this price. Since I've had lightening strike problems before, I bought a battery back-up surge protector. I don't really need the battery back-up but was advised those are the only surge protectors that really protect from lightning. I live in Florida, so it's worth it for $75.00 + Prime. This computer is worth protecting. Here is the name of the battery I bought on Amazon: APC BE750G Power Saving Battery Back-UPS, BE 750G. Oh Windows 7, so glad to have you back!!!

This is a great and relatively fast little computer
It took a while to get to it to set it up completely and load all the software, but so far everything has worked well and it is reasonably fast as well. It comes with a full memory compliment (8 GB) and has handled everything so far, but has not been heavily loaded yet. This is a great and relatively fast little computer! And it comes with Windows 7 (Pro) and not that horrible Windows 8! This means it is fully usable. But it lacks USB 3.0 and a memory card reader. The USB 3.0 can be added with an internal Card and the memory card reader can be added externally, each for about $15-$25.I marked it down to 4 stars just because these two items are missing. Bought Broken
I got my tower from Corner Stone Savings. Very well packed with bubble wrap and all, and a good length on the USB devices. Not important to me at this time though; as the PC didn't work. Sent a message to the seller at 3:40pm on Dec 10th letting them know, and seeing if I can send it back and they send me one that is capable of starting Windows without getting kicked to a Windows error every time it fails to initialize first-use setup. Will update message as the story continues, if it does. I mean, I'm a disabled man that was homeless until now, and my gift to myself was this, so I can watch TV and work on gaming mods and stuff. Bought it with the only decent chunk of cash I'll probably ever have, which is now gone. But it doesn't work....?

The only good thing is they had installed 8 GIGS of RAM ...
NOT SO COOL - See pics attached!I bought this for 150 because I was in a hurry. But you can buy a used PC for much cheaper price. However, it works. No WIFI so you have to get your own WIFI adapter. Just to do my work, it is OK.The only good thing is they had installed 8 GIGS of RAM ( instead of 2 GIGS ). They also send you the WINDOWS DISK ( That is Good ).Not a bad choice. I think $150 is too pricey. It would have been OK if it was $50-65.NOT SO COOL!The software they sell is not GENUINE! Be aware! see attached PICs. hey but the PC still works

XP to Win 7 Professional -- Great upgrade for the price
I actually received an upgraded refurbished Optiplex 760 model but still dual core. I am using this computer to replace an old Windows XP single core processor. -- It was well packaged in lots of bubble wrap and came loaded with Windows 7 Professional with no add-on software or games. Upon set-up it initially booted up but after about two minutes it crashed and asked if I wanted to run a trouble shooting memory test. I ran the test and the error message showed a memory integrity test failure with and error code of 2000-0123. I called the company I ordered it from (EzBuyCafe) to explain my problem and the technician I talked to said it was most likely a loose memory stick and asked if I wanted to try to reseat the sticks myself. I told him I was also a technician and didn't mind trying to reseat the memory sticks. This did not fix the problem but I continued troubleshooting until I found which stick was causing the problem, removed it and positioned the three remaining sticks to run with 6 Gig and the system stopped crashing. I called EzBuyCafe back the following day and asked the technician if he would mail me a new memory stick and he said he would. I received the stick within 3 days, inserted it into the slot, powered it back up and all is good and back to 8 Gigs of ram. I am giving it 5 stars due to the willingness of the seller to work with me to resolve the initial problem. It is so much faster than my old XP system. The system is small, the fan quietens down after power up and I like the wireless connection -- Great upgrade for the price!JW

Decent product, crappy seller.
The hardware itself is very good overall. So far I haven't had any technical problems and were it not for the antics of the seller I would have given this 4-5 stars instead of 2.First: The computer was advertised as having a DVD burner, which it did not. I was able to take the old burner from my old and dead PC to get it to work. Not, in my case a big deal but the product description was not accurate.Second, and more critical, is the fact that it was supposed to come with Windows Professional 64-bit. It did technically, but lacks the product key which means I've got to spend more money to get it. I had several e-mails back & forth with the seller over a couple of months and it hasn't been resolved. I might have still gotten this anyway but again I really resent the apparent bait and switch, especially when it increases the total cost of the item by such a significant factor.

Purchased over 6 years ago for office
I bought this refurbished computer in 2014, and aside form an SSD upgrade and occasional cleaning it's needed no attention. I don't know that I would buy such old hardware today, but this turned out to be an exceptional value. Cudos to Dell for using quality power and MB in this device.
