XR12 is a great stage box/mixer. Highly recommend external Router. Maybe consider the XR18.
I’ve been using this for a few months now and I love it! After intending to only use it for my solo gigs and small group performances I came to find that I should have went for the 18 channel unit. I still use and love the xr12. I would have loved to be have more outputs (in-ear would work much better than the standard method I’ve been running, would give me freedom to run tracks with the small group) and the ability to use it as an interface to record multitrack. But on its own the XR12 is an amazing mixer with a small footprint. The built in WiFi is NOT reliable at all though. I was running sound with the internal WiFi and lost connection while presenters were speaking and I had no way to adjust anything on the mixer. I will likely get an adapter to connect to the XR12 to my MacBook through Ethernet while running with my iPad wirelessly. I have been using a small cheap GL-sft1200 to connect my mixer to my iPad with the Mixing Station app on iOS. With mixing station the XR12 is a breeze to setup and use and is very reliable. The preamps on channels 1-4 are very nice. Sounds great with all my mics from PG58s to nexadynes. The build of the unit is solid and I like how the handles act as guards when I have the mixer in my storage box (not racked yet) with other gear and supplies. This mixer is well worth the price but maybe consider the 18 channel version even if you’re never going to use 18 inputs. The other features are nice and if I could, I would go back and get that unit instead. I don’t feel bad about my XR12 though. It’s been a great mixer/stage box to work with and has cleaned up the stage removing crazy cable runs and I love it.

Totally amazing mixer! Great value for the price!!!
I'm part of a small worship band (2 vox, bass, 2 acoustics, electric guitar, e-drums, keyboards, violin) that performs at home venues (max 25 people). We were looking for a budget replacement for our Behringer Q802USB mixer because we had quickly outgrown it. A professional sound guy recommended we got a digital mixer and, after much persuasion, I decided to try this one.Oh boy! Was I blown away!! Granted, it is has a somewhat steep learning curve and there is no user manual from Behringer; however, there are scores of Youtube how-to videos. You just need to give it some hours and understand some basics on sound mixing. I was so happy the XAIR app worked on my Linux PC and Android tablet seamlessly. The 4 stereo effects are amazing! The gates and compression are just on fleek...and that EQ? Oh my!!! Strangely my mics even sounded better with it (MIDAS Preamp?). When we record rehearsals to the USB, we love what we hear. I'm yet to try it in a live situation.I think one of the real strengths of this machine is the sound routing.- Our drummer uses the headphones for his stereo monitor mix (linked buses 3 & 4).- Guitars and violin use Aux 1 (Bus 1) one for monitor. We use a small headphone amplifier to feed four of them- Aux 2 (Bus 2) is routed to our improvised SUB (FENDER Bass Combo). We don't feed bass from the mixer since signal is split with a DI- Keyboardist listens to the main mix (FOH) since our venues are rather intimate, and it sits in the centre of the mixGreat thing is that each bus can be mixed using "X Air Q" on mobile; so the instrumentalists can have their mix without affecting the main mix.But this is my little regret: I should have squeezed my budget and gotten the XR16 as it as additional AUX channels that could be used for monitor mixes. So if you have the extra $150 (less if you're getting a used one), please just go ahead to get it. You can connect your headphones directly to the AUX channels using an XLR > TRS adaptor and the level is pretty decent. What are you waiting for? Just pay for it already!

Works on routed network
There's lots of review about how great this thing is, but very little out there about more advanced networking. The communication is OSC or Open Sound Control protocol. It's not multicast , which is great! So this works on a routed network without special IGMP and PIM settings on your switches. The caveat is if the unit is on the same vlan as say an ipad the app will automatically find the XR12. If you're not on the same VLAN you have to go into setup each time you launch the app because the app is portable, and input the IP. I made a DHCP reservation for mine so it's at the same IP each time. The built-in access point is 2.4 Ghz only, so if you want to use it wireless I recommend an external wireless router like Behringer says to do. Software works fine on PC, MAC, and iPAD thus far and is easy to use. Unit is sufficiently quiet. Comes with rack ears, takes up 2U of space. To install rack ears you remove the rubber end pieces and use the included 4 screws to install the rack ears. rack ears can be installed on the front or rear of the unit.

Good quality mixer and does the job.
This mixers is ok from time to time i have problems with its usb play back. You can play your recording on your pc/tablet etc.The device works perfectly and for those who read the 1 star review: If you have gone on the Behringer site it tells you two track stereo recording!!!! The sound is great if you know what your doing as an musician. It's small and handy to move with and does the job.None of the other companies that sell digital mixers will give you a better price and a device that will multi track record for lower than 16 to 18 channels.Amazon doesn't have it's app on there app store so don't buy there kindle fire with it because it will not function. How can you sell an article and don't have it's app? Buy another type of tablet that can download from google play store where you can find the X air app. The x32 app doesn't work with this product i don't know if the payed version works neither.
