Sachi Organics Buckwheat Hull Pillow Size (12"x16")

This pillow is 12x16 and makes for a fantastic travel size or toddler sized pillow. I happen to like this size for regular use because I like the versatility it offers. I have several buckwheat pillows, being Japanese, I am familiar with this type of pillow and happen to love them. If you are new to it, the crunchy sound may take a little adjustment time but it is well worth it. The sobakawa is great to keep your head cool at night so you don't have that problem with overheating, it is great firmness to keep your head and neck in a comfortable position through the night and doesn't compress like cotton, down or poly fill can. As an added bonus this is organic so there is no off gassing as with synthetic pillows using polyesters and flame retardants - I know I don't want to be breathing that stuff in all night, every night. Yikes!This particular buckwheat pillow is especially wonderful. Very well made, packaged beautifully, arrives quickly, ORGANIC, and Sanchi has amazing customer service. These are handmade in the USA, using sustainable materials. As I mentioned earlier, I do have several different buckwheat pillows from other companies, but this one is my favorite. It is not overstuffed, I like this because this allows you the ability to adjust and position your head and neck more easily. Some have so much stuffing that it can hurt your neck. This pillow is PERFECT! Love it!

I sleep soundly! I really like the size 12 x 16. It's versatile, you can travel with it. The pillow is cool, and stays put and it's just the right softness/firmness. No more bunching and fluffing, and most importantly no stiff neck! I even like the gentle sound the hulls make when you move your head, it sounds like a rain stick... it was soothing. I added a few drops of lavender essential oil for a more restful sleep. Try it. I found an organic cotton quilted pillow case this size and it makes for a comfortable little pillow. I realize there are people with different head sizes, size fits fine with mine, so with that in mind if you have a large head it might not work for you as it won't cradle a large head completely. Another thing, I sleep mostly on my back. But it's also fine sleeping occasionally on my side. No stiff neck. There is another pillow by this same company for side sleepers (Rejuvenation pillow) which I will get for my son. So take this into consideration to choose your best option.

I purchased the medium and the small pillows. They arrived quickly and in good condition. I immediately noticed while unboxing that the pillows were heavily underfilled compared to what I was imagining.I inspected both pillows. They were packed nicely. The canvas is really nice quality. The zipper works well and it's flushed nicely.My pillows each came about 50% or 60% full. This is too low in my opinion. Half full is not cool with me. You could have simply given me another pound of buckwheat hulls and I'd have been happy. These pillows are running with a premium price.To use the medium pillow comfortably I had to empty almost the entire small pillow into the medium. Now it is comfortable - great to sleep on in fact. I do love it.The whole ordeal made me look at the pillow more critically. The construction is nice but since I'm now looking for flaws, they could have used a double stitch. The strong canvas will definitely out last the single stitch.The pillows are constructed nicely and I'm going to be using them for a while but due to the fact that I had to buy my own buckwheat hulls I am not going to buy from this company again.It's annoying to not be able to use both pillows at the same time on the day that they arrived.The total ship weight for both the medium and small pillows combined was under 5 lbs. Ordered this after I saw that it was made local in New Mexico. I've been without a buckwheat pillow for a few years and decided to get one again. This is much, much better quality than my previous purchases elsewhere. Shell zipper case was nicely made, again better than my last. I will have to look for a pillowcase that fits this exactly, so far I haven't located one that fits it exactly; presently using half of a regular pillowcase, folded. Mine came filled up enough that it works for side-sleeping, which was an unexpected plus. Size is small, but perfectly suited for how I sleep. Will be throwing out two other pillows now that I have this.

It's not your usual fluffy pillow. It's quite firm, but cradles your head so wonderfully. Before using this pillow I would wake up multiple times a night. I have had this pillow for 3 days and haven't woke up in the middle of the night on any of the nights. No weird smells, no bugs. I whipped up a quick pillow case on my girlfriend's sewing machine in about 5 minutes using an older case I cut down. Such a great pillow.

It's super tiny. Barely big enough for a couch cushion.

Terrible pillow. Sounds like waves crashing when you move your head. It’s the smallest pillow as well. I don’t know what I was thinking. Wish amazon returned this for me.

The hotel pillows were killing us and we missed our pillows from home. Ordered these small, travel-size buckwheat pillows while we were traveling as they saved our necks for the rest of the vacation. Pillows arrived clean, nicely smelling and plump. Love them!
