It's amazing.
I am blown away by this product. I can control its motion from my phone. I can move it and rotate it within the app. You DO NOT need an SD card or cloud storage. Anything it sees it will send you a push notification to your phone of a short video of what it saw, free of charge. I have this device sitting in my window sill aimed toward my front door. It will rotate 355 degrees to see my entire living room so I can see my pet while I am gone. This is an absolute steal for the price and easily the best thing I have ever bought. This does everything a Ring does except of course having a doorbell and being able to talk to the person at your door. However, this does have talking features between it and your phone so you can talk to your child or pet if using it as a monitor for them. This thing is just amazing. It was also easy to setup and install. You can also access the camera from a computer or tablet. I highly suggest this product. I will buying one for my mother so she can keep an eye on her elderly mother while she is away. She has a a tendency to fall out of her chair. I'm sure it will be great for her to be able to open up the app and check on her mother. This thing does it all.

this may help you
Hopefully this review will help others....This is a good camera for the price. Picture quality is okay, not the greatest in the world, but the instructions are where they really need to improve.Instructions simply say "download app" not very helpful. If you search for the yi app, several will come up. It took me a day to realize I downloaded the wrong one after I couldnt get my camera to connect. The CORRECT app is the Yi IOT (digit cam) appNOT Yi Home which is the first that comes up.Once you download the right app, setup is easy. You can insert an SD card under the bottom of the rotating camera lense.

Price was great, but this is all about getting you to buy an expensive cloud storage subscription
This is a really good quality camera, but they made it unusually low priced to get you to buy an expensive annual cloud storage subscription. Without it you can only see/download a 6 second video clip.. even if you use an internal SD card to store it locally. This destroys its purpose and functionality. The app is full of ads at every turn about buying their subscription I really resent this and dont recommend this product because of this.

OK for low price; not quite a Wyze. Motion tracking only horizontal, not vertical; detection good.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. UPDATE October 2020:- I am able to use this with the Yi IoT app.- For some reason, sound detection no longer works (no matter which app I use.- The unit groans / squeals when turning side-to-side.I have a Wyze Cam Pan I bought a year ago and like very much. I wanted something else like it, with Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ), but not quite as expensive and with slightly better picture quality. I've gone through a couple other cams which I'm returning, and got this Goowls camera on a Lightning Deal.It is actually in the Yi IoT family. However it seems to use the Chinese version of the app, not the US version. So if you already have a Yi cam, you may not be able to use its app with this camera. (I don;t have a Yi but if I did get one, I'd probably run into this complication.) I did try setting up with the US version of the app, but it gave an error messageSetup was fairly easy; it took a little bit of doing to link the app with the camera, but it paired with my network without much complication. The app, while not as slick as the Wyze or as featured as the Reolink, still offers some basic setup & control options such as 180-degree image rotation.I think the app may be the weak point of this system; the camera hardware itself shows great promise. The image quality is very good, and the motion detection is also quite good. I found several "alerts" triggered by a moth flying across the room. The motion tracking (where the camera follows a detected moving object) is OK, but it only appears to track/pan horizontally, not tilt vertically. (The camera can tilt, but only manually through the app.) A small flaw which I hope can be corrected/upgraded by Goowls through a firmware update. Night vision is automatic within the camera; there is no control through the app. But it clicks on & off quickly and the IR image is very good (I'd say even better than the Wyze). The app really wants to push you on getting their cloud service. This is what turned me off of the HeimVision, which gave no option whatsoever to view clips, even with an SD card inserted. Upon setting up this camera, it wasn't immediately obvious how to view clips from the SD card, other than short 6~10 second preview clips. I had been set on returning the camera when I couldn't figure out how to view full video clips on the SD card. Today however I noticed that it gives an option, after viewing a preview clip, to view the full clip. (I assume these are clips stored on the SD card.)Another really neat but perhaps seldom-used feature is the Panorama mode. On command, the camera will pan over to the limit of its horizontal travel, then pan & record a continuous image. It takes a few minutes for the pano shot to show up, and if you wish to view it outside of the app you must save the image to your phone. The resulting image is very distorted and vertically compressed, poor quality. I did a trick where I hit the Panorama button, then hit the record video button, so it records a video clip as it pans around the room. Again, however, the vertical range is limited (but not as bad as the still image). I wish there were an option to automatically take a panoramic shot at set times and/or periodically during the day. Another nice feature I haven't seen in others is a network connectivity test.

Worst purchase ever!!!
The camera itself isn't bad. Biggest complaint is it does not rotate smoothly. Something inside must be rubbing, because it makes a dragging/scratching noise that is so loud the camera image shakes like its in an earthquake. So much for "hidden" camera's.But I wish I could give it negative 5 stars. Yes you don't have to sub. to the premium cloud service, (for the low low price of $149.99 per year!!!!!) but the cam is about useless without it. You get 3 sec to see what the alert was about. Even with a memory card, it's filled up, then deleted as you go. So if you needed to save something, good luck.Sidenote: The camera does not work with ANY other android cam apps. I have tried all of them I think from the Play Store and none will connect. Some tell you to go get that p.o.s. YI IoT app that came with the camera, and that's about as close to connecting as I get. Will be burning these 2 cams at my next bonfire, and hopefully something better has came out as a replacement.
