Great movie
Have seen the movie before several times and have always enjoyed it. A good action/comedy. If you're looking for outstanding acting performances, skip it, but if you're looking for something enjoyable for the evening, this should fill the bill.

THIS IS THE TV CUT, not the real movie
This movie is fine, good even, unfortunately Amazon doesn't reveal anywhere that the streaming version available is the inferior, pan&scan TV cut. It's not good.

Edited, poor quality, shame, cuz its a good movie
All the cuss words have been dubbed out, very disappointing. I ordered this to reminisce about when I first saw it, and every 15 minutes its dubbed.

Yutoob copy is uncensored. Amazon Digital copy is censored for dialogue and hand gestures
Get this digital copy somewhere else. This is a very crappy video quality (VHS transfer??) censored version. The only funny part they left in is that the subtitles AREN'T censored.Way to screw up an awesome movie Amazon.

One of the best 'buddy' action movies
FIFTY-FIFTY is a very enjoyable, intelligent action flick with some depth, heart & humor.Though it's essentially a genre war movie, it transcends the genre to some degree. Essentially a 'B' grade war flick with an 'A' movie budget, it has a good cast, including Peter Weller, Robert Hayes & Charles Martin Smith, who also directed. Cinematography is first-rate. Plus, a very nice score by Peter Bernstein that goes a long way to making 50/50 feel more like an 'A' movie. The standard war-movie pyrotechnics are also well-done & add to the realism. It starts out as a typical buddy action comedy then slowly evolves into a more serious story about the dark side of mercenaries & the CIA. But it works & actually gets batter as the story builds to a satisfying conclusion. However, if you want to see this sort of film done better, check out MEN OF WAR, a film by director John Sales (Robert Altman's assistant director, who also directed the tour-de-force film, MATEWAN). MEN OF WAR is also about mercenaries, but it's an 'A' movie with better production values, great script, & a better cast. Dolph Lundgren proves he's a serious actor & gives the performance of his career. Then of course there's the box-office blockbuster BLOOD DIAMOND, with Leonardo DeCaprio, which won many awards including two Academy Awards & three nominations.

Wierd Action Flick
I didn't get to watch this movie start to finish, but I can tell you why there's so little about it. Two mercs agree, relucantly, to aid a guerilla force and the CIA to overthrow an Asian dictator. In the process, there are various bloody ambushes, and one of the fakest (hey, I might as well make up words, right?) "combat" scenes in history. In this scene, there are only two guys (the protagonists) versus the evil dictator's entire bodyguard and a few armored cars. We get to watch millions of glitches including a one-shot grenade laucher firing four times (one after the other, clearly no reloading) and watch a submachine gun magically turn into a rifle. When one of the character falls five feet, a rubber prop gun bends in half. Pretty fake, huh? These two guys only get hit ONCE throughout a twenty minute scene, by the dictator (no wonder he's the dictator, he's the only one who can hit a barn door!). So, find an ex-marine, put in this movie and prepare for him to point out all of the errors!

Entertaining
I really love a good show thats entertaining with a bit of sense and humor, The crew put everything together in this fast action pack movie. This movie with Peter Weller and co stars really punch it to you, not knowing whats going to happen next and the excitment waiting to see wheres its all going to end. Fighting for freedom is worth supporting and thats all I'm willing to give you about the show as not to spoil it. Worth buying for the collection and I rated it an A plus, worth resting your weary bones in front of the dvd with the popcorn.
