Airport / Soundtrack.

I believe this was Alfred Newman's final score, and he ended on a high musical note. My only regret is that more of the score was not located somewhere in the archives and added to the music that was on the original album.

I had long since forgotten about this soundtrack and was surprised to see it being released again on CD. This release appears to be from Universal (Japan), as the liner notes are both in Japanese & English. Having said that, the tracks on the CD include mostly the characters' themes ('Inez' Theme', 'Love Theme', and a 'Love Theme #2'), but also some good action music such as 'Emergency Landing!'. The score carries a distinct 1970s flavor that comes through in several tracks.This is a relatively short soundtrack, coming in at about 30 minutes. Still nice to hear again after so many years and thanks to Universal for re-releasing it!

Fantastic if dated score for the original 70's disaster flick. Varese could have released the original session tapes along with this which is just the original album on CD but beggars can't be choosers.

I have generally liked the movie, though it does get a bit "soapy" at times; it was certainly better than any of the sequels!The best part was probably Alfred Newman's last film score, and it's a bit unfortunate that all of the recordings of it only have about 30 minutes of music, even the Varese Sarabande version. I'm hoping that someday more will turn up and someone like Film Score Monthly will do an extended version.The recording quality on this disc is just fine, but on my copy, the liner notes were ONLY in Japanese!

several years a go this cd was so rare it would have cost nearly £80-£100 to buyluckily its been re released ( i magine) and is more economicalthis film complements the movie airport starring b lancaster.

I saw the film upon release and enjoyed the soundtrack on vinyl. Many years later the music was finally produced on compact disc, but the pricewas too costly for my pocketbook. After a year on my list I found it on AMAZON CA. for 50% less than AMAZON USA. The sound quality is fine and it is a re recording like the vinyl. I do not know why it rates such an exspensive price tag, but I' m grateful to mhave options in the AMAZON UNIVERSE!

I am into my soundtrack a lot, When I saw this airport soundtrack I just act to buy! When it came the music is great.
