The Forsyte Saga: Complete Three Volumes

Bad paperback
The paperback with the woman in a red dress on the cover is a very poor quality print - looks like a knock-off. Tiny text with huge margins. The copy on the back cover appears to be from another edition of this book, but rearranged by someone who is not a fluent English speaker.

Tragic Family Past that leads to Present
I started watching a BBC episode of The Forsyte Saga and then I was intrigued and dying to know what happened! So I read the book and it was very good, a little sad with happy moments (just like life) and a lot of philosophical ramblings which I enjoyed but it slowed the pace. Definitely worthwhile reading. Great example of Victorian life and how it slowly changed. I wound up feeling badly for EVERYBODY. Especially Soames, if you can believe that.

A waste of money
Print font is set in 8-point mouse type. All nine books are run and slapped together. I could not read any of it without a magnifying glass. So I have set it aside and will give it away eventually. A waste of money!

Disappointed
The print is a 4 font. Didn’t get through the Preface without feeling eye strain even with my readers. Then, when trying to return, there was a $6 charge for the only UPS Drop Off we have in our rural area! Total waste of money. 😞

Do you own a magnifying glass?
Shipping was fine. However, this imprint has type size that requires a magnifying glass to be able to read! You are better off purchasing each volume separately and having readable type!

This was a knock off and not a properly printed book
This was a photocopied book with tiny print with a strangely stretched front cover. A total scam which had to be returned.

Forsyte Saga Complete
Did not enjoy the writing, it was in UK language and very hard to read, also the printing was VERY small. I was hoping for a clearer version as I would have loved to read the complete series. Not your fault in any way

Dense, interesting, but written with a heavy British ...
Dense, interesting, but written with a heavy British prose style that was hard to make my way through. If one has a lot of time and patience, it is worth the read, but for a typical 21st century reader with shorter attention span, could be more difficult.

A different world.
Having little recollection of the TV series of years ago I came afresh to the story. At first I had problems with establishing who was who - a difficulty with Kindle is that you can't ruffle back the pages - but found the whole story fascinating. Perhaps being older I was more forgiving and could see every point of view. It represented a time, class and situation which was quite foreign to me and I enjoyed it the more for that. I some ways I thought it rather detached when talking of the war, injuries and even death of a young man and didn't feel any involvement in this. All in all this is a book that I would hope to read again.

Not for the long sighted!
The print is tiny, I struggled with it. Even with strong reading glasses I found it heavy going. The tv series was true to the book and its been interesting reading what inspired the tv series.

Tiny text
I haven’t started to read this yet as I have had to order magnifying glasses. Ridiculously small print.

Four Stars
hard going at times, but I saw it first on tv so difficult to compare

The Kindle version is fine as far as it goes
The Kindle version is fine as far as it goes, but despite it being advertised as "all 3 volumes" it in fact only contains volume 1.
