Smell, smell, smell!The plastic valve smells bad. 3M has the reputation for material science, but why does the company make such masks with inappropriate materials?I opened one box and expose the mask in air and hope the smell will go away soon. But if the smell does not within the return period, I am going to return them, as I don't want to be poisoned![Update in June 2019] The smell is gone after a few months in my closet. Now they are really good. Still recommend this product considering its pricing and the protection. Review rating updated.

These 8210V Respirators are OK for light duty and for those users with smaller faces, but 3M's 8515 Respirators have the stronger 'braided' head bands (as opposed to the 8210V's simple rubber bands that are prone to breaking). The 8515's larger size also helps keep the mask's inside noticeably cooler.

The idea is great but unfortunately my face seems to be about half an inch too long to make the repirator either effective or comfortable. I didn't see a choice of measurements - or, indeed, if there was, how to measure one's face. The result is that either the nose-piece is too low or the chin is too high. Even with careful adapting, either position makes my specs mist up.I have to choose whether to drive without specs and the window open or take the mask off and keep the window closed. Having to keep moving the mask up softens the material, which then irritates the nostrils.I was also surprised that cigarette smoke and other unpleasant odours came through with no bother.I'm sorry. I wanted everybody to know that such an object - had it been efficient - was available as a protection against geoengineering.

Strong plastic smell, I originally expected this can protect my lungs! I asked for a return, but was informed that I need to pay the freight! Even if I explained the return is because there is smell.

It makes sense to buy these in bulk if like us you go through quite a few. The "cool flow valve" really helps in keeping you cool and dry unlike the ones without a valve that can become hot and moist after a while. Staff really appreciate the company buying masks to ensure comfort and safety.

Finally got a chance to try it when I was demolishing my bathroom during a remodeling session. Lots of dust in the air but the air filter kept the dust out of my mouth and nose and never clogged up. There is a flap in the front that freely let's out the air air that you breathe out. This flap shuts when you breathe in, forcing the air through the filter during the breathe-in part of the cycle.

Got lucky and found a case of these for like $50. I believe its 8 boxes of 10 mask per box. I went on a couple days later to look for the mask just for fun, and the price was close to $125 so I hit it at the right time. Good mask just hard to not fog up glasses if you wear them.

Really made by 3M?Once don it, I immediately noticed it's bad, very unpleasant smell. Either from the glue between the fabric and plastic part, or the fabric itself. I got a headache after using it for about 6 hours.
