In case you need another excuse to love gummy bears...
After recently embarking on the Autoimmune Protocol lifestyle, I kept stumbling across "gut healing gummy" recipes. As a former gummy bear addict, I could not help but wonder what these gummies were that everyone spoke so highly of much less how they could provide the body anything beyond a decent sugar rush. The premise is simple though as gelatin has numerous healing abilities. (Specifically, it contains glycine and proline, two amino acids that are typically lacking in the standard American diet.) To name a few of the many benefits it can aid in digestion while healing your gut, help joint recovery, improve skin, hair, and nail growth, has been known to help promote better sleep, and provides the body with the building blocks for bones and cartilage. Not bad for a gummy! I do recommend if you are interested in making them that you look into high quality gelatin such as Great Lakes unflavored gelatin which can be found on Amazon as well. (Make sure you go for the red/orange can! The green will not work for this.) Despite being so excited to attempt making them at home I put it off for a few weeks thinking they'd be time consuming or difficult. Turned out to be quite the opposite. After making the first batch of gummies today this ice cube tray worked absolutely perfect for this purpose! Not a single one stuck. No longer do I have to shield my eyes down the high fructose soaked candy aisle - I can make gummies at home with only pure fruit, gelatin, and honey. (Note the visible seeds from blackberries in their bellies.) I'm a fan. My only regret is that I didn't buy more than one tray.

Fun but I wouldn't buy them again.
I've never actually made ice cubes in this so I'm not sure this is a fair critique. I use it to make DIY Natural Gummy Bears! I put it in the dishwasher and now they stick unless I use a light coating of non-stick spray, but I tossed the directions before reading them so I don't know if it was the dishwasher, the fact that this is an ice tray or some other factor that caused my gummies to to stick. Also, the trays are so flexible that they are nearly impossible to move from the counter or sink to the freezer without it folding and the liquid spilling. I had to use a small cookie sheet to move them. Now I just pour the gummy mixture directly onto a cookie sheet and cut it into pieces.

Great for making candy
My six-year-old wanted to make homemade gummy bears, and we searched quite a while for molds. I wasn't completely sure if these would in fact work since it's supposedly an ice cube tray. Yep, it's silicone and can handle high heats of making candy. The gummy bears turned out well. We also decided to make cookies in them using a vanilla wafers recipe--you can put the silicone mold right in the oven--and they turned out great. It would work for chocolates as well. These do make a BIG gummy bear--they are about 2.25" tall by 1.25" wide (5.6 x 3.2cm). I couldn't find smaller gummy bear molds. Details come out pretty well for both gummy bears and cookies. Non-stick. I haven't tried them for ice cubes.

Perfect Release - Gummy Bear Snacks
I made my own healthy gummy bears (no gluten and a bit less sugar) with these and worked perfectly. No problem with sticking, but then I did use a healthy dose of gelatin--so they popped right out. The bears are bigger than the commercial ones you buy-- as one reviewer mentioned, so my bears were not solid, but a bit wobbly-gelatin like, but still very fun.I ordered one tray and it wasn't enough for the effort of making my concoction, so I'm now about to order 3 more trays. Trays performed perfectly! Will try them for ice cubes too.

I only lack one star here because it would be nice if they offered a tray with 4X the gummi slots. This is 8, but even the large size gummies go quick and you're basically forced to buy more than one or make less gummis. Decisions.

These make great homemade gummy bears!
The shape of these is really cute. They are a bit bigger than I wanted as gummy bears are probably less than a fifth of the size of the ones this makes - but its still a cute treat for a child. I also tried making homemade jello in it - it worked but it was harder to get out and keep the shape - definitely best for gummy bears with more gelatin in.

Works great
Great little tray for making gummy bears. No complaints so far. I use it every other week, easy to clean and for the most part easy to remove gummies from the mold.

we love these for ice cube "popsicles"
My daughter loves to fill these when we make popsicles, we always have extra that goes into the gummy bear tray.I did try making gummy bears with them, which is why I ordered the mold in the first place. I had trouble with the gummies sticking to the mold though. This doesn't happen with the frozen treats. I will try again and perhaps lightly oil the mold before adding the gelatin mixture.
