The harbinger of what became the mellow singer-songwriter movement, Tapestry is sublime art, a recording of graceful intimacy, confessional purpose, relaxed warmth, and soothing melody. Seemingly flawless, the 1971 world-beater is the rare kind of record that's handed on to generations and resonates with undiminished returns.

The BEST album!
I love this album so much. It reminds me of my childhood and listening to Carole King with my mom. So many amazing tracks on one album. I like to buy vinyl that I can listen to the whole album of (yep, I am lazy and don't want to have to locate the track.) This one is perfect for that. A classic. It arrived in perfect condition and I am SO glad that I was able to find this on amazon.

Brilliant, refreshing, genuine, and highly enjoyable
Carol King is brilliant. The live versions are excellent and in the same sequence as the popular album, adding a degree of predictability to the non-produced live versions. The performances are - at times - a bit tentative in an innocent way, and give a genuine impression of an up and coming superstar who has launched a promising career but still has big things to come. It presents a refreshing view that makes her music more "real" than the pasturized version we're all familiar with. I highly recommend it to anyone who grew up "in the era." You will not be disappointed.

If you like Carole King you will love this 2-CD set
My wife and I went to see James Taylor and Carole King in concert and ran out to buy this CD set. Great stuff. The first CD is set to full background music support while the second CD is more intimate. Carole sings the same songs playing the piano as her sole background. Even though they are the same songs, they sound completely different, almost as if you were listening to her in a small club. Do yourself a favor and own this set. It already is a "classic".

Not even one bad song
Have you ever noticed that from time to time appears one record that simply has not even one bad song? You can count them single handed.Ok, this one is falls in that category. Perfect record, only great songs, impeccably recorded. What else to say?

An essential classic
There are few albums of which it can be said that anyone who appreciates music with integrity should own a copy. This is one such album. This particular issue includes a second disc of live, acoustic versions of each song which further reveals the superb quality and craftmanship exhibited here. There are few albums of which it can be said that each song on them is a classic. This is one such album. Enjoy!

The Best Just Got Better.
I have grown up with album. First on vinyl then cassette then CD but finally, even though it's been our for a long time, I finally upgraded to the Legacy Edition..............and boy was it worth the wait. First of all the Album itself sound so much better than my nearly 13 year old original CD. Thank god for remastering. The tracks sound crisper and clearer than ever before. I know some people complain about the sound on a CD being too clean sometimes but on this occasion the cleaner sound makes for a brand new experience. As for the bonus 2nd CD. It's Carole at her best. All that disappoints me is the lack of a live version of "Where You Lead". Other than that this is one CD that I thing can't get any better

Timeless Carol King, every generation can associate with her songs.
Introduced to both Carol King's Tapestry and Carly Simon's Coming around again (just bought vinyl LP) by lover in early 70s, had both on cassette, but, time has not been kind to cassettes (not like me !!!!!) as they stick, thus the reason for re-investing in the LPs.
