Excellent tool for the price
We have had our log arch a year now . We cut 45-55 4x8 trailer loads of firewood a year as we heat by blast forced air woodburner . Our average log we haul is 25 ft hard wood . We live in the Appalachia foothills so all the hauling we do is on very steep grades through heavy forest . Now the log arch has easily handled every log we have thrown at it . We wench it up wrap a chain to hold the log and then take the tension off the lift strap of the wench . Our strap is still solid please see the pics for how we chain the logs .We are now well into season two of hauling heavy logs it has saved wear on our four wheeler . But the best benefit is the log doesn't push you down steep hills it helps hold you back but not in a way that years up the bike .goes up steep hills like a charm . We love ours and it has saved us a ton of time and energy .

Back saver.
The over all build is very sturdy. the support chain is useless and the winch that comes with it is poorly built. I ended up replacing the winch with a heavier duty one from harbor freight and have not had any problems since. This has saved me a lot of carrying wood out from hillsides piece by piece. Also works great for hauling brush to piles in bunches.

Do not waste your money
This product was packed very poorly by the shipper and pieces of the equipment were hangout from holes in what was left of the box. No filler was placed in the box with the equipment so the whole pieces of equipment were moving around in the box that caused the holes. Found that the winch handle was missing. The winch was loose in the box but in a plastic bag without the handle. I contacted Strongway and was told the first time that they would not replace the handle but instead they would have FedEx pickup the box for a refund once it arrived back to them and it would take up to 3 days for FedEx to pick up the box. I was instructed just to leave the package on the porch. I contacted Strongway several days later and informed them that we were having snow and rain and requested if they could have FedEx pick up the box as soon as possible. I was told that the pickup time was up to FedEx. I was now told it could take 5 working days for them to pick up. After nearly ten days I contacted Strongway again. They said they had no record of the box needing to be returned. I provided their log number for the conversation that they had provided me. I was apologized to and told they would resubmit the FedEx pick up request. I was informed that I would be reimbursed once FedEx delivered the package back to them. I was informed again that they could not send me a handle for the winch and that I would have to order a new log arch. I was then told after I said it would be cheaper for them to just send a handle out rather than shipping the log arch back and then sending a new log arch with a new order, that the handles were on back order until mid April. Sounded like the winches were purposely shipped without handles. Sounds like a class action suit in the making. After no response on March 4th I decided just to buy a new handle. When putting together the log arch it was found that several of the premade holes for bolts to go through did not even line up. Not even close to lining up. I ended up having to drill several new holes to even get it attached. The manufacturing quality was horrible.

Box Not made for shipping: missing parts and badly chipped.
Northern Tool is shipping things not packaged to withstand the journey. This log arch is fine BUT I had to replace a lot of the hardware that fell out of holes in the box, which was taped together by the time I received it. The parts jangled about like pennies in a sack, so the powder coat finish chipped like crazy. Northern tool offered to make things right, but I had to fix it and make it work. Don't order if receiving a NEW looking product is important. In the end looks don't affect performance, but it would be nice to get new for new prices. Northern Tool is reputable and offered to refund only the price of the hardware with a receipt, or in the alternative, that I could box and ship at my expense for a return. We're back to the days of caveate emptor - "buyer beware" because this means that in most cases people are forced (not actually just practically) to to keep sub-optimal or damaged products simply because of the inconvenience of replacing them. I ran out, got all the hardware and put the thing together and it works well but it looks terrible. Looking at it, you'd think I had it for a year, not an afternoon.

Tree hauler
Picking up 15' to 20' de-branched dead pine trees. Well built, crank is very capable of the lifts. Just watch seat belt type band that it doesn't jump the roller when in use. Made the job of moving long trees easy.

Missing parts upon receipt - Warranty replacement 9 months and counting
I purchased the log hauler summer 2023, unfortunately it arrived all beat up, possibly repackaged after original packaging failed in transit. None of the mounting hardware was available, nor was the winch handle or the chain. A warranty claim was placed in September 2023 and the winch (handle alone not available as a replacement) was shipped right away. The mounting hardware and chain continues to be delayed, and delayed, and delayed, currently expected in June 2024, yes, next June!!! Given similar post about missing hardware I went to local hardware store to buy mounting hardware myself once the first delay was announced (over $100 worth). The picture shows the parts received. The winch is indeed cheap, and could use a serious upgrade. When it fails again (already replaced twice), I will upgrade it myself. The frame and tires are doing great, even hauling huge logs. I hauled about 25 large trees over the course of several weeks.Would I buy it again? No. Too much hassle with missing hardware and crappy winch. I would go to a local ATV dealer instead.

Solid unit
Box came damaged and missing tow coupler and winch handle. Customer service was very responsive. Coupler came quick and was able to rig a handle. Works great for hauling heavy logs without ripping the ground up too bad. The handle took quite a while to arrive but they sent it with a complete winch assembly so it was worth the wait. Overall very happy with purchase
