So disappointing
Raven and the other teens in Dullsville are excited about a new club opening up in their town. Jagger has decided to open up The Crypt in Dullsville. It will be the happening place since Jagger knows how to market such projects with his ownership in The Coffin Club. What Raven and Alexander are afraid of is that Jagger will open The Crypt up to other vampires. Alexander has managed to live in Dullsville without bringing too much attention to himself. If other vampires relocate to Dullsville then that could not only put Alexander in danger, but also the humans of Dullsville could be in danger.Their solution to the problem? Open the club to only mortals and a select few vampires. But will Jagger stick with this plan or does he have a more "nefarious" agenda? My first pet-peeve of the book is that word "nefarious". In my opinion it was used WAY TOO MUCH throughout the book. Everyone had "nefarious" agendas going on and it almost became comical to me. It was like the author just found this new word and had to sprinkle it throughout the whole book. The next peeve was the phrase, "My true love" or "My one true love" that Raven kept using to describe Alexander. UGH! Again, overuse of a word or phrase. I've really become disappointed in this series. I used to enjoy it, but now it seems just a bit too juvenile and silly and maybe even a bit like a Twilight wannabe. It even seems that the author is trying for that triangle since Trevor seems to be becoming less hated by Raven. Another overuse of a word when Raven refers to Trevor is "my nemesis". There is one more book in the series and YES, I am going to read it just to say that I finished it out!A positive for this book is that it is fairly clean. No cursing and no sex. Even though Raven does cuddle with Alexander in his coffin and they have some steamy kisses there is never any reference to sexual situations.

Here is my opinion
My 13yr old daughter was introduced to this series by a friend in school. Her middle school screens the books they carry so I felt secure the books were fine for her to read. Since I do not generaly read young adult books I thought it best to let her review the book. In her own words....Pros: Good characterization, very good description. Good continuation of the story and lots of action and lots of new characters added.Cons: They described the clothes way too many times. I also feel like Raven spent too much time in the book just being with Alexander. Also too much talking, the talking got a bit boring as it went on for a few paragraphs and it got really obnoxious. I find it repetitive when Raven kept asking Alexander to bite her.Either way, I can not wait for book 9 to come out to read about what happens next.

Great but didn't answer some questions...
I really love this series and I hope she continues with it even though she was only under contract for 8 books, but it seems that she has set herself up for number 9! However, this book had a lot of unanswered questions. For example *SPOILER* when Sebastian found Raven kissing Phoenix they never told Sebastian that it was Alexander and Sebastian was all of a sudden best friends with Raven again even though only a few lines before he was angry at her. *SPOILER OVER* I still loved this book and I can't wait for the next one so the plot holes in it bother me, but not that much to stop reading it.

New friends
I really enjoyed how there are more vampires in this book than the others. It really expands the story and gives Alexander a reason to really stick around. I also like the idea of the vampire clubs. It's really cool. I wish we had something like that for real.

Great series of books for teens and adults.
I love this series! My daughter introduced it to me, and though it was written for teenagers, it is still a great story for adults as well. There should be a movie of this series.
