Oil & Herbs Flavor is Great!
Let me start out by saying I am a lifelong vegetarian (raised from birth) and I've never tasted real tuna. My mother, who has, tasted the Naked in water and said it had the texture of real tuna but not the flavor. I can't say anything about this myself. I've grown up eating a wide variety of meat substitutes of all types and had never tried a tuna substitute so I thought I'd buy this. I bought one each of the naked in water, oil & herbs, and Mediterranean. I'll review each of them below:Oil and Herbs (rating: 5): This is good stuff. I will buy this again. I liked the taste and texture, and the flavors go well. Its not too strong or too bland, and its great for eating right out of the bag! Loved this one. The rating above is for this one.Naked in water (rating: 2): My least favorite. Wouldn't buy this again. The texture was fine, and my mother, who has eaten real tuna, tasted it and said that the texture is like real tuna, but the taste isn't. I didn't care for the flavor. She didn't either. I tried it cold and cooked, and it was better cold, but not great.Mediterranean (rating: 3 1/2): The flavor wasn't too bad, but not super good either. I thought it was a little strong, and it should be noted that it is hot, so for those like myself who are very sensitive to hot spices you might want to pass this one up.It should be noted that the bags are pretty small.

Made my 2020 even worse
Not quite sure where to begin—the flavor and texture of this product were both incredibly repulsive. I was really excited to try this tuna since I'm trying to eat more plant based and enjoy tuna. However, when I try vegan alternatives I do try to think of them not as meat imitators but standalone products. Unfortunately, this vegan tuna is terrible as both a standalone food and as a fish alternative, and definitely one of the worst foods I have ever eaten.FLAVOR: 1/10The flavor is quite overbearing, and has no taste of the sea. Often with vegan seafood products, I find that seaweed extract/aminos can really lend a hand to a more realistic seafood flavor. When not comparing it to seafood, the flavor is still quite nauseating. I tried the herb flavored product, and the herbs didn't add to the flavor; it mostly felt like an attempt to cover up the real flavor of the tuna.TEXTURE: 1/10The vegan tuna is made from a blend of chickpea, lentil, and pea protein—great sources of plant protein! I do like that the product contains so much protein. Unfortunately, that's the only praise I can sing of the Good Catch tuna. The texture is very much that of compressed pea protein. Very mealy, gritty, and leaves a sandy texture that makes me want to rinse my mouth out with water.

Pretty good, definitely worth trying, but not tuna!
I’d like to say that calling this product a tuna substitute is very generous. I think it’s convenient because of the way it’s packaged, the company seems to have good practices which is nice, and the flavor and texture were great. I put mine on top of a big leafy green salad and it was a great way to get Pro Tien. Flavor like I said it was good and I would probably get this again. With all of that said this is not read like to know if you wanted to know this is not it I would sooner say this feels like a chicken salad just because it has more of like a dense meaty texture that you don’t find with seafood. I would say though if this is your kind of thing don’t pass it up but don’t get it thinking you’ll have a tuna fish experience.

Like the real thing
I love this faux tuna. It’s great on crackers or in a sandwich. The texture and flavor is spot on. If it was organic, it would be even better.

Not for me
It smelled like cat food. I guess that means they did capture the smell of fish (somewhat), since I feed my cats a fish-based canned food, but there is an undertone of something yucky in it too. Texture was pretty good, but I could not get over the taste. Even doctored with plenty of herbs, Mayo and celery, I tossed it out. I love the gardein fish less products so this was a huge disappointment.

So good!
Love! Perfect for our vegan tuna salad! We combine 4 packages (forked up) with vegan mayo, chopped celery, shredded carrots, sweet relish & powdered garlic/sea salt/black pepper & a dash of chili paste - PERFECT! Family loves it!
