Worth it
Really nice, collapsing rod. Incredible action and compactness. Don’t hesitate.

Perfect for backpacking
I caught this dandy 19.5" Rainbow casting a spinner while wading from shore in Alaska. I plan to use this backpacking. The 5.9' length seems to work ok with this size 500 reel with 6lb test Maxima mono. This fish fought well so I don't see any need for stronger line. No doubt the rod is fragile so care is needed in storing it in my pack but the plastic protector works well. The rod fit my reel just fine which was about the smallest I could find and seems to balance well with this model. The action is a bit stiff but casts ok. Even the PowerBait with egg sinker cast fine. For the price I'm very happy!

Cheap and compact, not bad.
I got this pole specifically for a short trip to North Carolina. I wanted a setup that i could throw in my carry on bag. After reading probably way too many reviews, i settled on this one mainly for the price point. I figured this rod probably would not last too long, but could work for a fun 3day trip. Combined this rod with the smallest 20$ 1000 spinning reel i could find, some #10 braided line i had already lying around, and a SMALL box of tackle. I could literally fit it all in my jacket pockets.I got the shortest rod they offered, i think it was a 5 foot 9 inch, medium. The rod is light weight, but a bit heavier than my 7foot casting rod. The reel seat is actually rather strong feeling and looks cool (my favorite part of the whole thing). The rod held up pulling in small bass and sunfish, but i did not get anything over 2lb. Im not sure how well it will hold up to 5+lb. or a heavy fighting species. The telescopic functioned with out any issues, the sections stayed out while fighting the fish and casting, they retracted fairly easily when packing it up. The tip section is much more flexible than i would have liked from a medium weight rod, but it did help in feeling the dinks biting. I was having little issues throwing out 1/32 oz lures. Retrieval felt fine. The eyes are not that strong, and i could see them failing it hit on trees or the ground too often.Overall i would say im happy with this purchase, this is DEFINITELY not my go to rod, and will probably only really be used in situations where i have to run minimal. But for such a low price point, and so far the durability seems substantial enough, this was a great purchase. With all that said, i would probably never buy another one again, i would buy a much higher end one for more regular use. But if you are looking for a fishing rod you can shove in your backpack for a short trip, backpacking, camping, or if you are incredibly new at fishing and want something cheap to just play with, i would definitely suggest this rod. If you are like me and fish 3+ times a week, you probably want something a bit better. Also just in case you were thinking this, no this rod would not be good in salt water. Please dont buy this if you plan on surf or ocean fishing at all. I guarantee you will face several issues with oxidation or rust. This is great for small lakes and rivers, think smaller and you will not be disappointed. Good luck, and tight lines.

Honestly not bad at all
Waited awhile to give this rod a try, mostly because i let it sit in the back of my truck and forgot i had it. Paired it with a reel (also Sougayilang brand) and gave it a try the other day. Virtually identical in appearance and length to my Plusinno telescopic rod (i suspect their both made from the same factory with the same parts with the exception of the Sougayilang CNC branding) but the reel set on the Sougayilang is much lower compared to my Plusinno, which felt much more comfortable for myself personally. The rod seems fairly durable, although i mostly fish for crappie. I think it would handle well with medium size LMB, although i am doubtful this would hold its own against anything bigger, although the same could be said for most telescopic rods. So if you're into telescopic rods, i'd recommend this one

good fishing rod
This rod is too stiff for the fishing I do these days. This is not the fault of the rod, of course. After fishing with it earlier I did some trial and error tests and found it works best with 15lb mono line and 1 1/4oz weight. That is far too heavy for the 10" trout I fish for. Once again, this is not the fault of the rod. I have two concerns, neither of which would lower the rating of this item. The first is the reel seat is a bit flimsy and I am afraid it will crack over time. This is not a big deal as it is a matter of 10 minutes to put on a new real seat. The plastic guides are another possible problem, They appear to have inserts but that might just be cast plastic made to look like it. I fear these might not take the weather well or be cut by the line. It takes me about 1/2 hour to replace a sec of guides so this does not detract from the value. I will use this for river fishing when going after sturgeon and carp. If I were younger I would use it surf fishing also. This is a good fishing rod!

It’s not so good
For its price point I imagine it would be made of higher quality materials. Purchased a better quality rod at Walmart for 9$.I had this rod for about a month and its not really what I expected. The rod itself feels solid but not durable if that makes sense. The part that is supposed to hold your reels is very loose and I almost dropped my caster. You can’t really tighten it on there because it’ll slip and jump the thread coming loose. If your looking for a telescoping rod made of better materials Check out the ones at the Bass-pro shop. They aren’t as expensive as you would imagine. They don’t even compare to these.

Pleasantly Surprised
Wish it was a tad more sensitive but great for the price. Sections lock together well, casts decently. Fits in a small back pack which is a plus. Was able to pull in some salmon, large mouth but was still sensitive enough to go after smaller trout and panfish. Packs together easily.

Stiff/fragile
Alloy is strong but tip doesn't flex enough and broke with a fish over 4lbs. Everything else about it is designed well. Really needs 2 carbon sections instead of one.

Annoying
Rod is fine and works well but it took a week longer to arrive than originally advertised and when it did arrive it wasn't the colour I ordered, this was extremely annoying. As it took longer to arrive than advertised I simply don't have the time to return it for the correct colour as it is needed this coming weekend. Very very disappointed.

Overall good fishing rod.
The reel seat doesn't lock the reel properly , you need to fit a piece of cupboard underneath for it to lock the reel securely.

Weak durability.
Length, weight was great. After using about 10 times, snapped and broke from the second extension rod when the hook snagged to the ocean floor. Recommend others to simply cut the line and give up retrieving any equipment attached to the line. Was using a light 8lbs line and thought the rod will cut it before breaking on me.
