Beautiful, well-made press. Very high-quality
This is my 3rd French press in 6 months (my kids keep dropping them) so I actually have a frame of reference to compare it to.First, this press is beautifully made. The glass is thicker, the copper-colored metal straps, lid and handle and are all solid and well designed and even the print on the glass is high-quality.Compared to my previous presses, it looks and feels SO much nicer. Even the way the lid seals up the coffee keeps it hotter for longer. In this price range, I dont think you'll find a nicer one.The press was packed well, has clear care instructions and came with extra filters, a matching spoon and cleaning tools.Although my kids are still required to do the dishes, they aren't allowed to TOUCH this new French press! I love it so much!!

Awesome quality, gorgeous look, nice extras
I've been using French press for my coffee exclusively for the past 20 years. Yes, I'm a coffee snob. Also, I'm from a European country where babies are pretty much weaned on black Turkish coffee (ok, I'm exaggerating but not by much), so I'm used the more of a "kick" than the sad cups of dirty rainwater that's American drip "coffee".I've gone through a lot of French presses over that time, and was still impressed when I received this one, especially considering the low price point. The antique copper look is very lovely, it's made sturdily, and it's my impression that the glass is slightly thicker than average too. The extra filters and the long copper-look stirring spoon are a very nice touch.Another intelligent thing I wish more French presses had: There's an arrow on top of the cover indicating where the straining grid is, so it's easy to see which way to turn it when ready to pour. Yay!

Too Many Discrepancies.... False Descriptions; Read Before Purchasing
The French press coffee maker in itself is okay, but is not what I thought that I was purchasing . I chose this particular press because I wanted stainless steel and I thought that this one looked really nice. I liked the color and style. It looked just as nice coming out of the box as it does in the description. It makes a good cup of coffee, too. Now for what I was not expecting and do not like. Two of the answers given by the seller of this item to two questions asked in the Q&A section are inaccurate. First, unlike every other French press that I've owned, NO, the glass carafe cannot be removed from the base. Not even if you remove or loosen the screw in the handle that makes it appear to hold the glass tightly in place. Of course, it does support it, but the glass carafe is glued into place. I tried to push the carafe through multiple times, then finally took a closer look. The glue is visible from inside the carafe and from the outside looking at the small gap between the carafe and the base. Secondly, NO, this item is not dishwasher safe. After I unsuccessfully tried and tried to remove the carafe from the base to place the carafe in the dishwasher, I put the whole unit in the dishwasher because the seller's answer indicated that it is safe to do so. Nothing broke, however on the base, the color coating came off in some spots and in other areas, left it covered in white spots. The lid was not affected. I tried to rub off the white spots hoping that it was just residue, however they are permanent and it now looks like the base is covered in mold or mildew. Not so nice anymore. I already doubted that the accuracy of the item description claim that "The base, lid, and handle are 304 food-grade stainless steel". The handle is obviously plastic! I tried the magnet test for the rest of the pieces. The magnet was not attracted to the base, the fittings or the lid and was only attracted to the long plunger piece. As I am writing this, I decided to take a look at the box that it came in. It states "stainless steel interior fittings", "copper plated lid and frame" and "dishwasher safe glass". Dishwasher safe glass doesn't matter one bit if the glass cannot be separated from the base! I would have given the item itself 2 stars, however, I had to take one back because of the inaccuracies. I did contact the seller about the issues. It took a few emails back and forth for the seller to understand my concerns.... possibly due to a language barrier. If you do purchase this and need to contact the seller, keep it short and blunt. The seller sent a replacement- which I did request instead of returning for a refund because I threw the first box away. The seller seemed friendly. The new French press came within 2 days and is being hand washed. It tolerates a daily hand washing just fine so far. If you are okay with hand washing, a NOT stainless steel press and not being able to separate the carafe from the base, then you should be happy with it. I probably would not purchase from this seller again because the item is mostly NOT what the description indicates. I hope that the false information was not intended to be deceitful in order to gain a few sales, but there really are a lot of discrepancies for it to be just a mistake. If anything changes, I will update my review.

So far so good
Day 1 - so far so good. I was a bit worried about cracks upon arrival, and then cracking when I pour the water in. So far, it handles really well. Cleanup is kind of laborious, but I knew that from the start. Everything came in the packaging as advertised. I'll update after a week. We have coffee at least twice to three times a day, so it'll get some good use during the week.Update: been performing very well this past week. No cracks or blowouts. Now to figure out our ideal brew. We're so used to a keurig that this "new" coffee is strange. Messing with measurements and timing as we hone in our "perfect" brew.Six month update: still going strong. I think I'm getting close to needing to replace the first two metal meshes, but that might still be a long ways off. Cleaning is still a bit laborious but not a hassle. I did notice that the lid had twisted and lost alignment with the plastic strainer(?) but was able to twist it back. Other than that, I'm calling this a win.

Not durable... The great customer service
I absolutely love this French press!!!! Coffee has never been so delicious at home. It’s lightweight, easy to clean, and comes with an extra filter. I originally bought mine in September in about a month later noticed a crack in the beaker. When I contacted the company, they promptly sent me a new one and their customer service was incredible! Thank you!! Highly recommend!!Update 2.25.21: Ugh, I really wanted to love this product. It’s a fantastic French press. However, it is not durable. I’m gentle with it and I’ve had two in the last six months- both cracked. The glass is simply not durable. Therefore, I am changing my rating.
