BioGuardSparkle Up, 1.5 lb, Effective Filter Enhancer, Helps Remove Copper and Iron, Restores Water Sparkle

The only thing I can say is WOW!! I had a very milky, cloudy pool up until yesterday, due primarily from dead algae and DE media that I had tried to use. I have a Pentair sand filer and had tried adding a little DE media into the skimmer, in hopes that it would help scrub out the dead algae, all it really did was make its way through the sand and back into the pool and make the cloudiness even worse.So, I read up about this BioGuard Sparkle Up product and decided to give it a try, along with a healthy dose of liquid 12.5% chlorine to kill any remaining algae. I followed the package directions and added 4 scoops of the Sparkle Up with my pump running. The powder was a little difficult to get it to get pulled in by the pump, but it finally went in. Within about 24 hours, the water had turned around 180 degrees and was super clear and brilliant. I really wish I had a picture of our pool a couple days before the pictures below, you wouldn't recognize it as the same pool!I would highly recommend this to anyone with a sand filter. I was NOT given this for a review, I bought and paid for it on my own. I'm just recommending this because it impressed me so much!

Used in conjunction with pool magnet plus and iron stain eraser to get rid of iron in water. Worked well but you have to clean filter cartridges soon after used

This is a great product to tighten up a sand filter a little and capture fine suspended solids.

This is a great product to use as an additive to your regular DE charge. It works even better if you use it with the Pool Magnet product that is designed to get iron out of the water.

We have tried many different brands but always go back to BioGuard. Other products do not seem to work as well or leave our pool clear and sparkling like BioGuard.

This filtering additive puts your filter in "power up" mode, in that it captures the minute particles that your filter normally doesn't catch. Is it worth it, you ask? I spent days opening my pool, balancing chemicals after a complete refill, and killing algae. That last little bit left in the water is grantedly hard to see, but you know it's there....and YOU can see it. So, yeah, it was worth it to me. The container contains enough material to add to a cartridge filter several times. I favor adding the material to the cleaned filter in the housing and letting the pool water spread the material evenly as the filter cavity is filled. Monitor your filter differential pressure (rise) and water flow at the pool.

Helped but not as much as I expected

I use to clear pool when cloudy. Takes it straight to the filter. Will need to backwash to clean the filter after some time. I like it better than using a clarifier. Especially useful after products that bind to metal in the pool water.
