Great for Mechanical advantages
i am a climber but use this only for tree cutting because of its size. It works great for setting up mechanical advantage systems because of its design.

Lumber work
I've used two of these with an anchor plate to pull large logs up hills by myself. They're easy to work with and were very durable. Nothing has bent on them and I'm looking for more reasons to use them now since they were just so fun to use.I used a rope instead of a cable since I was hand pulling, however I now have a wench system that I plan on putting some cable on.

Excellent pulleys for your kit bag.
I do a lot of outdoors activities: sailing, hiking, backpacking, camping, &c. I wanted a set of blocks that I could use for general purpose, and these were ideal. I did buy two, and with the two, can apply force pretty easily in a large variety of situations. The copper colored sides rotate, so you don't need the working end of the line to feed through into the pulley, you can simply rotate the long end out of the way, loop in the line, and you're set. They are not light. They are not made for backpacking, unless you have a very specific plan for what you need to do with them.

I’m using the pulley to lift people during training and performing of circus arts and it was a great inversion. It’s an amazing quality product. I definitely recommend it.

Worked great for my application
These are easy to use. I used these to cut down several large trees. They handled the load of six strong guys pulling in a 5:1 system. Would buy again.
