API pH DOWN Freshwater Aquarium Water pH Reducing Solution 4-Ounce Bottle

If you are having a plan to properly setup a new big size aquarium or even water change, this is a good recommendation. Our pH was more than 8 when tested with pH aquarium test kit. Would recommend to follow the instructions correctly, particularly not to use too much within a day to stress the fishes. Water clarity is pretty good. Fishes were able to adapt this change & I see them performing healthier. Overall good product for money & easy to use.

I brought this cause it's way cheaper than the fish store. It truly was worth the money. Plus it helped my daughter fish tank just in time.

It does a good, adequately changes pH and does it fast. It's easy to add to the water, just use the measuring cup in the cap. Use a test strip before and after and you should see the difference. I have a large aquatic turtle in a 300 gallon indoor pond and this product couldn't keep up with that long-term. What it did do was give me a safe way to treat the water for pH, temporarily, while I got an appropriate system in place. It's a good price for that kind of snappy resolution. Thank you!

Just as described. I use quite regularly as water coming out of my tap is pH 9 or higher.

This is one of my favorite products on the market and I use it regularly since my area has high PH water.

I've used api ph down and up for years to control my ph levels in my tank. It really does work if you know what you are doing. If you have what is called a "stable tank" you can see it rise or fall within a few hours. Note though if you are not cleaning your substrate, filters and doing your water changes weekly or bi monthly like your supposed to be. Then yes you'll find this product wont work at all. For a band new tank, one without fish in it, I'll add twice what it says on the bottle to "shock" the water. I live in Montana and we have a lot of minerals in our water so it is tuff to get it to that initial stable point before adding fish. If you currently have fish in your tank. Then the ph should only be change slowly over several days not wanting it to change more .2 over a day. For larger tanks, 75 gal or larger. I would recommend a large water stabilizer solution as this product you will need to add several bottles before you get to that stable point.

I honestly had some trouble getting the ph correct but to not fault of the product just my water and my own fault. Was a little hard to know how much to use for a 5 gallon tank since it only shows for 29 gallons in instructions .

Honestly I use th whole bottle and trust me it didn't effect that much.. Instead u found alum or vinger found more useful than this product.
