Living proof Amp Texture Volumizer, Citrus, 2 Oz

I have only had this product for a week. I am very pleased with it so far. My hair is quite short (2-2 1/2 inches on top) and I am hoping that it will continue to work until my next haircut as my hair grows out and gets heavier. My hair is flat, ultra-straight, I have cowlicks, it's fine and annoying! I just want something that isn't sticky but will keep my hair from lying flat on my head and looking so limp. The day I received this I had other product in my hair and I added a dab of this which did not work out well at all. So the next day I followed directions and dried my hair before using it. It was disappointing because after drying there seems to be nothing you can do to correct the flat spots and cowlicks. Over the rest of the week I have experimented with applying some product on my wet hair, pretty much throughout, then drying my hair with my head upside down. Success! Sometimes I add a bit more in spots if I think it needs it after drying. There is no huge difference, but my hair now looks alive and normal and is still soft and shiny and white (grey)! I am beyond thrilled! I can touch my hair and not end up with a mess, in fact no one would ever know there is product in my hair by looking at it or touching it. There is basically no scent either. I think this product is expensive and wish it was cheaper but I will keep buying it because of the magic it has wrought. As to applying it, it is a bit hard to judge how much to use. I just get a dab on one finger, then rub it on just my fingers until it isn't white and then start at the roots (while my hair is wet but not on my scalp) and pull through my hair all over the top and crown (pulling away from my head) and into my bangs which is where I need it. I do this maybe 3 times to get it everywhere. Then I dry my hair with my head upside down just using my fingers to fluff and move the hair). Then just use a brush or my fingers to make sure it all falls into place. If I still have a flattish spot I add a bit more product to that area. I live in south Florida, the humidity is nearly always horrendous, but it doesn't faze it. I'm a fan!

I was very nervous about buying this product because the reviews were so all over the board, but I seen a video about how well this worked so I purchased it with some uneasiness. I used it a few time now and it works fantastic for shorter hair styles. If you have long hair I would probably pass. It is great for pixie styles. Some said it left their hair greasy. I did not find this to be the case at all for my hair. It definitely provides a lot of volume. I was pleasantly surprised that the scent was nice because I read in one review it smelled terrible. I did not find that to be true either. I am impressed with this product and I am glad I purchased it. ~ Works well just follow the directions.

I have fine, wavy hair (about a 2C in curly hair classifications), and this works great to keep my waves looking good. I use it after my hair is dry, and put a tiny drop in my hands, rub them together, flip my hair upside down, and use this underneath to create volume. When I flip back up, I use a bit more to piece out my ends. You're supposed to not re-apply this on the second day, but I've had a hard time getting it to re-activate on its own, if that makes sense. It helps it I dampen my hands and then re-fluff my hair. I can tell that the product is still in there, but I don't quite get the volume on day 2 that I get on day 1. Overall, though, I really like this! It's the first Living Proof product I've tried, and I'll definitely be trying more.

This is crazy stuff. And by crazy, I mean crazy in the best way possible. This product will add floof to your hair without making it feel sticky or gummy – as long as you follow their directions. When they tell you to use a “little dab” – then do just that. If you think you’re using a dab, then use a little LESS. That’s one of the crazy things about this stuff. You only need a tiny bit. The instructions to tell you to activate the product by rubbing your hands together – so, rub them until it’s hard to rub them together. Although your hands will feel almost dry, that’s the point you want it to be. Just start mussing up your hair. Throw some hair spray on and be done. Some how, some way, it starts to work. And the really funky thing is, it just keeps working. Your hair will just keep looking better as the day goes on. Glad I came across this stuff while browsing Amazon… it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite products.

You don't need to use a lot to get the lifting effect. Just make sure to rub it in your hands until you see the white has dissolved then turn your head upside down and put it through the middle of your hair to the tips. Not on the roots. It gives your hair volume but I don't like the smell at all. I have to think about it if I want to purchase it again. It will last awhile. Might go back to my sexy hair shaping creme 5 shine 6 hold.

This is one of my all time favorite products... of any kind! Here is why: So my hair is wickedly straight. Growing up, my Mom would take her curling iron with the white handle and orange barrel and have me sit on the stool while she curled it. The magic number was 10 and for each curl I counted to ten in a different language to style my hair in a perfect bob. German, Spanish, and so on until we made it all around my head. Had I known then how many times my Mom has burned her own neck, I would have counted in terror! So when I was old enough to choose my own style, I wore it straight. Perfectly straight. But eventually, I just felt the calling of the curl coming back to me. So I curl my perfectly straight hair each day, but instead of counting each quick curl, I get help from Living Proof amp instant texture volumizer. It keeps my hair set for hours, adds texture and separation, and keeps it from getting frizzy and flat. According to my friends, it also works on perfectly straight hair Who knows, maybe I will try it soon!

Okay, I admit it. I saw a video on YouTube (totally random). I was looking for haircuts and found a style tutorial where the woman used Living Proof to finish her style a couple of different ways. I'd just had my hair cut in a bit of a radical pixie--hard to explain--and I needed the right styling products. The woman had fab hair, so, being curious, I did a little research on Living Proof and thought, "I'll give it a try for the price" OH MAN! This stuff is the BOMBDIGGITY! I will never, ever be without it again. Ever. I don't care if my hair is short, long or somewhere in between. I'm crazy about this stuff! It's so incredible. Lightweight yet moldable, holds but isn't stiff or sticky (once dried). You DO need to read the instructions. They advise you use a small amount to begin with and rub it between your palms until it becomes clear (it's white in the container). If you don't, you'll get a blob of EW and have to start over...after washing your hair. Don't ask. But if you follow the directions? You will NOT be disappointed. Bottom line: If you're looking for a styling medium that will give you volume, texture and re-workable hold? Look no farther. This is the product you're looking for, the one you've always wanted and definitely didn't realize you *needed.* I'm ordering more from this line simply because I'm so impressed.

As my hair thins it's difficult to get enough lift at the crown. I'm not particularly talented with hair styling so many products just did not work for me. Tried LP Amp on a whim, followed the directions to a T. and my hair now has its former volume. It does make your hair feel a bit "gummy" but it holds well and is easy to brush out at night. I find in the morning that many times all I have to do is run the hair dryer through my (dry) hair and it activates the hold again. Some have complained that it doesn't work at all. If you read the directions it says to rub a SMALL amount in your palms until the white color becomes transparent, and to apply just above the roots, not at the scalp. I have had great luck doing this. You only need a little so the jar will last a long time.
