San Román Premium Saffron

What a wonderful find. I bought this on a Spanish food website and the cost of the product with shipping would have been close to $30. With Prime, this product is much less money. The expiration date was August of 2016, two years from now, so I decided since it lasts so long, to order another package of 10 at Amazon! Each packet is sealed and fresh until you open it. I like it better than buying and using an open bottle of saffron threads. In addition, I like to share my food finds with family and special friends, and the packets allow me to do that. This saffron infuses into liquids so quickly, as if it were powder, and gave a deep yellow color to my savory rice cake dish. One packet was plenty for the 1 1/2 cups of rice I cooked in 3 cups of water. Had I known the intensity, I would have used HALF a packet, thereby making this product last even longer! On the side of the box is a website for exclusive recipes using this saffron.
