FOX RIVERMen's X-Static Ultra-Lightweight Liner Crew Socks

Too thin. Wears out way too fast.
The true gold standard for wicking liner sock will forever be the Wigwam Ultimax X-Static Silver Liner Pro. Was discontinued by Wigwam because those socks were nearly indestructible. Return sales were slow because the socks never wore out. REI used to be main seller of that sock. Its thread blend was:45% Stretch Nylon30% X20 Acrylic15% Acrylic6% Polyester3% Spandex1% X-Static Silver NylonWhy am I telling you this? Because I've spent 10 years trying all brands/types socks trying to find a liner sock remotely close to the performance of that incredible sock.UPDATE 06/24/2020: We think the best match is the Wigwam Ultimate Liner F6089 Sock, of which we have purchased dozens of pairs. We think that sock comes closest to the performance of the now-discontinued Wigwam Ultimax X-Static Silver Liner Pro.I dislike FoxRiver Men's X-Static Liner Crew Sock because while its designers may have had good intentions; nevertheless it fails so miserably in comparison to the gold standard liner sock I mention above. This FoxRiver sock is so thin and fibers so weak that holes wear through the sock's soles in weeks, under LIGHT usage. The only use I (hesitatingly) recommend this sock for is with running shoes IF you only wear the sock for a short jog and then immediately take it off (to avoid it getting holes in heal too quickly)

Great Odor and Blister Protection
I had some regular Fox River liner socks but my feet would stink by the end of a hot day (Military). No longer with these socks! They are nice and thin, strong, and offer great blister protection. I bought 7 pair for every day of the week! From my previous Fox River socks, they last well beyond 5 years with no visible wear (mind you that's the same 7 liners for the last 5 years)! These liners outlasted my Thorlo Anti-Fatigue Combat Boot outers by a longshot.*Made in the U.S.A.*Great Odor and Blister Protection (X-STATIC really does work!)*Fits True To Size (I'm 11.5 and Large fits good)*Great Recyclable Packaging

dry and odor free
My feet can be notoriously "smelly" but these socks kept them dry and odor-free. I used them inside a pair of heavy wool-poly blend socks, wearing waterproof hikers. The trails alternated between soggy and hot (going up and down hill a great deal). I wore them for about six hours and at the end of that time I expected to find that my feet were at least damp but surprise, surprise! these socks wicked away the moisture leaving my feet cool and dry. I wear women's size 9 and the fit around the foot was just perfect. It is a little shorter in height than I expected from the picture but still came about 3 inches above my ankle which was just fine with the other set of socks.(updated October 2013) Just got back from an eight day canoe / backpacking trip. By taking 2 pairs of these sock liners, I was able to use "fresh" sock liners each day (rinsing a pair at night and allowing it to dry out the following day). Because of the weather, I wound up wearing socks and boots about 16 hours every day. My feet still stayed nice and dry and odor free! One note - after about four days, I noticed that one of my ankles was getting just a little bit chafed. This could possibly be due to the way the sock liner fabric is folded inside then stitched. I never noticed that on shorter hikes. At any rate, I started wearing the sock liners inside out and the chafing had disappeared by the end of the trip.

Fabulous Sock Liner for cold feet/weather
I searched for a sock liner to replace an old pair that had worn out. The old pair had a metallic thread and worked well so I wasn't sure about these. Once I received these though it was apparent the quality was excellent... but would they do the trick? A resounding YES!I've worn them alone as a foot warmer in a cold bed, and they keep my feet warm while barely feeling them on like I would with actual socks. I've worn them under good socks in cold weather and they increase the heat production to keep my feet warm. They have a sheer luxurious feel to them, and just the right amount of compression so they don't squeeze too hard or fall down.I find I can wear 1 pair for a couple days in a row, then switch to an alternate pair. So far I'm very pleased with these FoxRiver Sock Liners, and with the 1-year guarantee I'm hopeful these 2 pairs will get me through this winter and maybe even next winter too!

The best thing I own.
These are one of my favorite products in the world, and I wear them almost every day year-round. They fit perfectly and hold up for years of use. They generally keep my feet dry (and therefore either warm in winter or cool in summer) and blister-free. As the price keeps going up over time, I have tried just about every other pair of polypro liners that I can find, and absolutely none of them equals these in fit, durability, and performance. I used to have problems with blisters and cold feet, and these have reduced them immensely since I started wearing them about 10 years ago and I would recommend them to absolutely anyone.

Takes a few wearings to get used to them, but delivers on promise of reduced odor and easy hand washing.
These are very thin. If you want the feel of a traditional cotton sock you may want wear one over this one. Otherwise they do work well for preventing odors and keeping your feet dry and healthy. They launder well and hopefully with hold up for many washings. To prolong the life of the sock it is best to hand wash or at least use a gentle cycle with a gentle soap. These are great for hiking or even working in. If you have smelly shoe odors these can help with that too. There is no need to spray deodorizers or use limited use activated carbon type inserts. Just change your socks! Nice. They do get a bit pricey when trying to get enough pairs to last a week. I do wish they were available in a bulk pack that would save more money. Otherwise I am pleased overall. Be aware the thinness and texture do take a bit to get used too. You make not like them at first. But after seeing results they may become favorites for you. You can wear a thin sock over them too.

Hiking liner socks
Unbelievable. I was skeptical being an old scout and using we'll just say less inventive options when I was younger. These really did make a difference though. Inside a set of wool socks, my feet stayed dry and warm and could wear them all day comfortably.

My goto cycle sock
These socks are great for heat and low odor. I need the room in my cycle shoes and these take up minimum space. I find them to be very cool.
