I assume Tempcore is the brand name. They have several styles. The one I purchased was fine. Just follow manufacturers instructions for opening & fluffing it up😉

Q: My cat is 15.6 (we were just at the vet for a “precise” weight) Do you think he would fit in this bed comfortably?

I have 3 cats that range in weight from 10 lbs to 12 lbs. and everyone of them fits very comfortably in this cat bed. If your cat is basically a normal size with just a little extra weight, there should be no problem. Even if your cat is a very long cat, I still think it should be fine because you know they curl up into a ball. Hope this info helps.

About 14” it’s smaller than I expected. I have a large Maine Coon. He seems to like it though.

I did not wash before using. I do not know about shape retention. My cat loves this bed more than all the others. It sits on the radiant heated bathroom floor in front of the forced air heat register. Cats are heat-seeking creatures, so she luxuriates there in cool weather--not so much when the air conditioning is on.
