Thee Best Boy Book!!
This book changed my sons life! I'm not even kidding. I am a huge advocate of reading. So it was incredibly frustrating when our third grader wouldn't read (even though he is a super smart boy. He decided he didn't like to read, so he wasn't going to!). His grades (not just language arts, but math, social studies etc...) were suffering, his behavior in school was suffering. He was having a Really challenging time in his experience as a third grader. Doing homework was insanely frustrating, a constant battle! Ugh!Enter a facebook post out of desperation, "Please Help! Looking for a good 8 year old boy book!"Then my girlfriend posted about Shark Wars and that it's a great book for young readers. Reluctantly, I ordered it...and now I wish I had ordered it a year ago!!!Within just a week or two, I noticed he would sit patiently and work independently on his homework. Hmmm...something's changed!? Then I noticed instead of playing Xbox on Saturday, he was curled up reading Shark Wars! I thought maybe this was a phase, but it continued...His grades went from B's & C's to A's & B's in one marking period. His class behavior has been exemplary! I am so serious when I say it changed his life! I am so thankful for Mr. Altbacker! I knew I had a smart kid...but more importantly, now the boy knows as well! Yay for Shark Wars! And even better, there are 5 books in the series! As for a review on the book, other than what my son excitedly tells me about, I don't know. He happily tells me all about Gray and his friends and the challenges they have in the ocean. It is an exciting chapter book for the kids to fall in love with. I am certain that girls would find it equally exciting, or anyone with an affinity for the sea and all the creatures it houses!!

I liked it, my 8 year old loves it.
My eight year old picked it out, he liked the cover. It is hard for him to get through, so I read 50pages of it to him to help him make progress, and I started to see why he likes it. He likes war. He is interested in ww2 and even in ww1 a little. He likes the give and take of power and the comraderie of the groups of fish. He is fascinated by social dynamics and studies them intently among his peers, both classmates and teammates. He is very physical, not only athletic, but also demonstrative, and this book satisfies him on all those points of interest. He is very close to finishing it, and has already asked me to get him the next one. So I did. What more can I say.

awesome
Grandson is ten and an avid reader.reads at an 8th grade level, so these are not challenging for him but an easy read. he has been reading the Reign of Fire book series ( which is AWESOME). While waiting for book three of that series to arrive I ordered book one the Shark Wars series.. He loves the charaxcters and he is already into book three of the series. Lots of action! This is definitely a BOY book.....If your child likespictures in a book, forget it. there are none. Only inside covers and back pages shows pictures of the different Shark Characters with their names.

My nephew loves it!
He is obsessed with Sharks and everything about them, so I figured this book would be a nice birthday gift and also a good read. I like to get him things that allow him to exercise his brain while having fun at the same time, and this book seemed to fit the bill perfectly! Recommended.
