I have this in my chicken coop for two years. The outdoor sensor is in the coop, 120 feet away from my house.

Cheap junk
Don't waste your money on this one. It's cheap junk. It comes with a crappy switching power supply. The buttons are of poor quality. The base unit doesn't stand up straight most of the time. The only thing going for it is that it has cute colors. The remote sensor is also super cheap. Never synced with the base unit. Not worth the money.

WOW - a total disappointment
This little jewel lasted exactly 31 days before the sending unit failed. There is no where I can find that sells a replacement.

Nice little weather station--with a few flaws
This is an almost great little weather station. Most of the flaws are in design, but so far it is functioning as promised! It has two units, an oblong black box that shows the time, weather, and indoor and outdoor temperatures, as well as a small wireless sensor placed outside to help you read what is going on.Set up is easy enough. One of the first flaws I encountered was with the sensor. It requires two AAA batteries (not supplied) and it also requires a TINY little screwdriver to get it open. I found that all of the screwdrivers I owned were far too huge to fit into the teensy holes. I improvised a bit and found a drill bit that was able to sneak inside and turn the screws. But if you don't have a glasses repair kit on hand, with an appropriately tiny (and skinny, and you will need a sizable shaft) screwdriver, then you will need to go shopping just to put the batteries in.You also need to be careful where you put the sensor. It's delicate, and won't survive blistering sunlight or rain. I am curious to see if it will survive winter. I might have a broken weather station by this time next year. The other issue I have had is the visual display. I don't know what it is, but unless you are looking straight at the screen, then it shines too much and you are unable to read the digits on the machine; They appear and full characters, basically "888:888 8888." Not very useful when you are trying to read from across the room.Other than that, this looks great, is unobtrusive, and a nice little weather station. It's fun to be able to read the temperature inside and out, and I like how little space this takes up. The ability to use USB power is appreciated, although I wish it had a back up so that I didn't have to reset everything when moving it from spot to spot. But all in all, very happy to have this at my house.Sample provided for review

Good For Families With Children & Elementary Classrooms
What you have are a receiver, which is kept indoors and reports time and weather, and the outdoor sensor that is sending reports to the receiver about the outdoor temperature and humidity.Unfortunately, the makers goofed when preparing the instructions and called what stays inside the outdoor receiver and vice versa . However, to help correct the error a sticker has been put on the sensor identifying it as such.In placing the outdoor sensor, a spot should be found where it will not be rained on and also not be in direct sunlight. The firs caution is to prevent damage to the sensor, the other is to avoid getting temperature data not representative of the actual temperature outdoors. The outdoor sensor and indoor receiver communicate wirelessly. Power to the receiver is by USB cable, which can be connected, if you prefer, to an electric outlet using the supplier adapter. The outdoor sensor is powered by 2 AAA batteries, not supplied, in the case that can be easily opened with the tiny screwdriver that is provided.Except for the major error mentioned above, the instructions are clear and the print is large enough to be read by most without a magnifying glass.I have seen other weather stations, but none were as eye catching as this one. In use, it looks like the picture on this product page. Because of its delightful visual appearance, I think this weather station would be a good choice for families with children, as well as for the weather or science corner of an elementary school classroom.Sample provided for purpose of review
