Trout Tactics: A Comprehensive Guide For The Conventional Tackle Angler Paperback – December 13, 2013

I've been an avid fisherman for over 40 years. I target trout in California. This book will help you catch more and bigger fish in this area. I am almost done reading and absorbing the book and I can already say I'm a better fisherman. Cal Kellogg's Trout Tactics gives you information and complete instructions that would take years of time on the water to find out. I've spent more money trying to figure out how to catch fish than I would like to admit. I wish I found this book a long time ago. I would have not only saved money but I would have cought more fish. I have lures that cost more than this book!

The book has a lot of information and helpful hints. But besides pictures of people holding their catches, there are no diagrams or illustration of what the author is describing in the chapters. For example, the author talks about certain kind of lures and unless you're familiar with that company you don't know what he's talking about and pictures and illustrations would be helpful. Another example, when he's talking about a trolling rig, and again illustrations and pictures would be very helpful to understand what the author is describing.

A lot of good information easy-to-read very practical. Great information that every fisherman can use from beginner to veteran, from an experienced fisherman who knows the area.

Probably the most informative book I have read in some time. I am getting back into trout fishing after having been out of the game for almost 30 years. This book will bring you up to date and up to speed with all the latest innovations., Thanks Cal!

Good book. I am not done with it but so far I have learned a lot. I plan on doing more stream fishing at Roaring State Park in Cassville, MO and this book should help.

Lot's of great tips for non-fly fishing trout anglers. I caught quite a few trout at Lake Shasta following Cal's tips on trolling and lure selection.

Good information in here, but the way the chapters are set up, its difficult to find. Wish there were diagrams of the rig set ups described, in fact any illustrations would help this book.
