.com You'd think the sting of Rich Mullins's untimely death would lessen with time, but the latest collection of works from this prophetic, insightful songwriting genius makes it hurt all the more. Listening to Songs 2 a 16-track sampling from the latter years in Mullins's career, one realizes that contemporary Christian music not only lost a great songwriting talent, it lost part of its soul in that tragic 1997 auto accident. There are so many good moments and memories on this release that it's difficult to single out a high point. Better perhaps to spotlight the different facets of Mullins and his fantastic colleagues, the Ragamuffin Band. "Hope to Carry On" and "Somewhere" carry the energy and zeal that was so much a part of Mullins's approach to music. Maybe ol' Rich captured his magic best in the track "Here in America" when he sings "There's so much beauty around us for just two eyes to see / But everywhere I go I'm looking." Indeed. Any fan of music, regardless of genre, should appreciate the muse, the honesty, and the urgency of Mullins on Songs 2. --Michael Lyttle

Love Rich Mullins!!
I have had this by Rich for many years now, recently miss placed my CD and had to have it!! I have always been a lover of the music he put out before he left this earth, Miss him & his Music Tremendously!!! So, I know the music... Just needed it back again. The CD came brand new - a plus. The CD was very pricy, I thought $40 was too much. I paid $14 for it when I first bought it years ago. But, Rich's music is worth every penny to me!! I wish he was still with us. <3

Great music
I was introduced to Rich's music by my brother and have been a fan of it for a while. Now that my brother has passed, this music brings back memories of drives that the two of us used to take just to listen to the CD's from the first song to the last.

Rich Mullins Legacy to the Family of God
Love this Cd. Although it is from the late 1990's if is very relevant to today's Middle East situation especially the "I Will Sing"- excellent acappella. Rich uses such diverse instruments such as bagpipes on Step by Step and hammered dulcimer on some songs. You can view several YouTube videos for some songs and there are a couple of videos of his concerts. I just started reacquainting my self with songs I sang with my children in church- but Rich always brings it home with his views on Jesus , the Church and our relationship with our Savior.! Buy it and watch Ragamuffin The Movie which was just released on On-Demand. It is his life story with all it's ups and downs.

More of Rich's Best
If the album "Songs" is a bouquet of flaming roses full of love and zeal for God, then "Songs 2" is a bundle of pure lilies, raw with the experience of God, intimate, personal, exploring. If "Songs" reminds me of a pair of wings taking flight and soaring in the sky, then "Songs2" reminds a string of footprints, filled with struggles, tears, and His grace.I love Rich Mullins' songs, although I would not qualify him as a professional singer, no, not at all. I would rather call him a prophet - biting and brutally honest, a poet - sensitive and uniquely expressive, and a musician - raw and soulful like the lungs that have just taken in a deep breath of Irish country air. Rich does not sing with a smooth vibrato, but with a vibrating soul and a beating heart. And the best (most important) part of this whole thing is: his songs bless. I am so repeatedly reminded of God's love, and challenged by his devotion that I can fall more in love with God and with Rich's songs at the same time. Don't misunderstand me: as Rich says, there are songs higher than he can sing. Nothing but His Word stands forever.

I am sure that this man is composing heavenly music ...
I am sure that this man is composing heavenly music for all eternity right now. While this world misses him greatly, heaven is enjoying his God-given abilities first hand. Thank you, God, for allowing us to have him for a little while.

Rich Riches
Delighted to rediscover Rich Mullins and find his music available again. He is the best Christian artist we have ever enjoyed, and I play Songs 1 and Songs 2 interchangeably every time I am in my car and sing along. Such a loss when he was taken so early, but so thankful he left his music behind.

Love it!
This was one of my favorite childhood albums. Used to listen to it all the time in the car until my parents got tired of it....but I never did! =D
