Very nice bow!! Really needed better shipping package
Alhtough it arrived intact, giventhe way the PO and other carriers throw our packages usually to the hard floor in fron of our mailboxes-- I was surprised but happy that nothing had happened to it.The sticker was...sticky -- I too used olive oil to gently remmove the stickiness without damaging the horsehairs. And yes it gleamed after a good olive oil rubdown.Once Resin-ed up, this bow produced a nice sound, effortlessly gliding over the strings, and for the price -- is an EXCELLENT backup bow or, if you wish -- an excellent primary bow.UPDATE: it just fell off my bookcase shelf, and ..... broke the tip. And my heart. Tried to fix it with super glue, but it did not take.Although I just ordered a replacement, I will still take my now-broken bow to my local music store and see if they can fix it.

Solid, great looking violin bow
I got this bow as a backup for my carbon fiber bow, and I'm very impressed with its performance. It was quick to break in after a hefty coat of rosin, and only a few hairs were torn which lends to the impressive packaging. The bow sounds great, on par with my carbon fiber, and it looks the part with a nice wood finish. I have no complaints so far, 5 stars!

Lightweight beginner bow
The bow tightens easily. After finally getting enough rosin on it, the bow made some music. I wouldn't call it beautiful, but that's not the how's fault, that's user error. It did lose a few hairs within the first few uses.

Well balanced bow
This violin bow compares very well to the one I bought from a violin shop. It is very well balanced. While it is not the lightest bow I have used, it's around the same as my other Brazilwood bow. The frog is good and works as all bows should. The visual look of the bow seems not as refined as the expensive bow from the violin shop. This is rougher looking but does not affect the sound. Like all new bows, you need do apply an ample amount of rosin the first time using it. Overall, it's a very usable bow.

Worst Quality Workmanship
Not even fit for a beginner. If I gave this bow to a beginner, they would most surely become frustrated and want to quit.If I could give 0 stars, I would.Decision to return item came as soon as it was unpacked from the (poorly packed) box.

Very happy
I got this to use with a bowed psaltry. The bow that came with the instrument is about half size and was a bit hard to use, not to mention very cheap. Since I don't really know how to judge a violin now all I can say is that it seems well made for what it costs. As far as using it with my psaltry the difference is like day and night. Because of it's length I can make much longer sustained notes. I'm very happy with this new bow.

Bow was in the box with no protection, wrapping or anything else!
The bow is ok but it was not wrapped in either plastic or anything else. Just put in the box as is! Come on, it couldn’t have been wrapped in proper protection? You don’t just throw it in a box!
