Deck-Guard DGULTRASONIC Ultrasonic Bird Repeller

I think I paid almost $69 or $79 for this, not sure....a few years agoNot sure if it worked on my boat or not as I did not notice a variance in bird activity on my boat, as I take other measures.I actually spoke with the company and the owner before I bought this and he really talked up the quality of this unit. Now as I start my second year the unit will not even fire up, I even used brand new batteries.To me this is just a cheap trinket, all hat and no cattle. Do not waste your money on this...It did not scare birds awayI did recently email customer service and they did not have the courtesy to write me back. The unit is not working at all, not charging the batteries and not turning on? It looks to me they have a lot of returns, now selling refurbished units.

DO NOT BUY this product doesn't work at all, if anything I think it attracts seagulls. Purchased for my parents at beginning of summer. Put on boat for them. Two weeks later checked on and there was seagull dropping right in front of unit. Decided to leave and give benefit of doubt but as we went on boat during summer progression, the beeping noise changed with unit sounding sicker with beeping finally becoming warbling and non existent. Unfortunately due to Amazon's 30 day return policy we are stuck with unit since took time to see if actually works, and by then could not return.

The product does not work as advertused for us. The birds are still fouling the area where it was installed. An ornithologist (PhD Biologist) explained to me that the birds do not hear in the ultrasonic range that the DeckGuard uses.If the form allowed me to grant no stars, that would be my choice.Martha Rose

Easy to mount and keeps most birds away.Is solar charged and works year-round even in Seattle under covered moorage.What's not to like?

Once in the sunlight, the deck guard worked out of the box, to my surprise. Small, compact, no moving external parts. I tied it with plastic ties supplied to my stern rail. Returning to boat a week later, much reduced Cormorant and Gull droppings. Appears to be effective. Immediately ordered a second and fastened it to bow rail. A month later, both are still functioning (you can tell because motion sensor activates red light).

The purpose of our company was to buy this to get the birds away from our buffet that has opening terrace..So I want to clarify that was not for a ship.In the beginning we think this worked out but after 2 days the birds got used to the system an were around this machine... without no problem.Maybe it was not what we needed.

The unit actually seemed to work, but it lasted less than a year. Somehow water got into the unit and it just stopped working. I am going with the Gull Cat.

Ok during few days/week but after a certain time birds became used to the device. All in all I do not regret to have purchased this item.
