Iisakki Birch Handle Hunter Knife

This is a fantastic knife, built in true Finnish style.The edge is razor sharp, and that is no exaggeration. The knife is light and handles very easily, in fact its weight it hardly noticed at all. The Laser etched marking do wear away quite quickly with use as they are not deep, so if you feel it necessary to retain the engravings then consider them being redone by your local Mr Minit or key-cutter.The one I received had a bare, non-lacquered birch handle. If you intend to prepare game with this knife then consider applying a couple of coats of varnish to avoid staining the handle permanently.The sheath retains the knife very well with no chance of the knife falling out accidentally.The combination of the sheath and knife design is very utilitarian and practical. The large belt loop allows the knife to swing out of the way freely when bending down, sitting or squatting.No criticisms at all for this knife. The Puukko design is an every day utilitarian design with no specific purpose so I would not consider this knife as "unfinished". As with all knives, you need to prepare it for the intended purpose.
