It killed my cat and sent my other 4 to ER
I got a contaminated batch. It killed one of my cats in a horrific way and sent my other 4 to ER. There was a lot of vomiting, diarrhea, terrible neurological symptoms, labored breathing, panting, drooling, frothing at the mouth, paralysis, seizures and death. It happened so fast. I stopped using the food for about 4 days and my 4 survivors were doing great. One almost died after reintroducing another can from this lot. At that point we were sure it was the food. I've discontinued using it entirely and all my remaining 4 are doing well. After such an experience, I just don't trust this brand. I reported the contamination here on Amazon, to our vet, the manufacturer, and the FDA.

Product recalled do not buy
DO NOT FEED THIS TO YOUR CATS! Just got notice that they are recalling the 5.5 oz can of Paté due to elevated levels of choline chloride. My cats have not been eating this batch & it had always been one of their favorites so maybe that’s why. They will not let me return the cans I have remaining.

Be aware of quality issue! My cat was sent to ER after eating this. Reporting to FDA.
My cat was in perfect health condition prior to us feeding him a new batch of Natural Balance canned cat food (Chicken & Liver Pate Formula). He has been eating this brand/flavor of cat food for years with no issues. However, hours after eat this food this time, he became lethargic, looks in pain and unwilling/unable to move around. He also would refuse to eat. Not knowing what went wrong, we took him to vet, who did a blood test which showed elevated kidney and liver statistics. He had to be sent to an animal ER and was given IV fluids among other treatment for 3 days, costing us about $5k in medical bill.A few weeks after his recovery, we fed him again 1/4 of a can of this same brand/flavor of cat food. Although not having as severe of an adverse reaction as the first time, we did observe again a loss of appetite and diarrhea. At that point we are starting to suspect the issue lies in this particular food that he had.Several more weeks have passed and last night we fed him 1/2 cans of this Natural Balance Chicken & Liver pate. In the morning we observed that he vomited multiple times over night, and now is again lethargic, looks in pain, refuse to eat and is just lying in a corner. After three separate occasions of issue, and the only common theme being that he had some of this brand/flavor of food, we are fairly certain something is wrong with this particular batch of food that we purchased. I filed a report with FDA and looking forward for their investigation. I have plenty of unopened cans available and I hope FDA to contact me to address this issue as soon as possible.Again, this is my personal experience - I might have just gotten a bad batch but if your cat is experiencing similar issue - I encourage you to stop using it immediately and report to food safety authorities (and manufactures, distributors, etc, of course).

Up in the air
At first I bought a few cans from a pet store to look for a different food because Blue Buffalo changed their food. My cat is very picky and so I try to find food that I feel is good for her and she will like. She ate the food and all was well so I checked to see if it was on subscribe and save in Amazon and it was. I purchased it and wanted to read the reviews to see what other people said. I was horrified by some of the reviews where cats have died because of the food but my cat was doing ok on the food until one day about a month later, she vomited and I looked at it to see if it was fur, but there was none, because of the other reviews saying that the cats started vomiting I stopped it immediately and threw anything else on her plate out. I cancelled it on subscribe and save, but the new cans have a different name, now it's called Ultra and the labeling is a little bit different. I checked the ingredients and found that they changed some ingredients, I don't know if it was because of the other food but my cat liked it and seemed to do well on it. I feed her the chicken and liver, 3oz. can and she gets different brands of food also, so she doesn't get the same brand every day. I also feed her wellness, merrick, and blue buffalo "tastefulls and dry food fussie. I am not sure exactly how to rate this yet so until I can I will give them what I experienced so far,and will change it when I am ready.

Carrageena In The Formula
I gave this cat food a 5 star rating - my cat liked the Ocean Fish Formula. Then I noticed that carrageena was added to this cat food. I do not know when the company started to add carrageena but I really do not believe carrageena was in this cat food when I first started buying it. I could be wrong, but I will not buy this cat food again."Carrageenan is a common food additive extracted from red seaweed. For the past four decades, scientists have warned that the use of carrageenan in food is not safe. Animal studies have repeatedly shown that food-grade carrageenan causes gastrointestinal inflammation and higher rates of intestinal lesions, ulcerations and even malignant tumors."Carrageena is also in many of the foods we eat, dairy, dairy alternatives, meats, nutritional drinks and prepared foods."Starting in the late 1960s, research linked the type of carrageenan used in food to gastrointestinal disease in laboratory animals, including ulcerative colitis like disease, intestinal lesions and colon cancer."

Size, Formula and Price Have Changed
My cats have been eating the Turkey and Giblets formula for several years. There have been formula changes in the past, but this time the cans went from from 6 oz. to 5.5 oz. and the consistency is almost paste-like with a few bits thrown in. At the same time, the price went up $10 per case. This is very disappointing since the manufacturer apparently doesn't think it matters to the consumer. I will be writing to Natural Balance to let them know the consumer definitely does notice. In the past, this food was definitely 5-star, but with the changes I find it is only okay. I will be looking for an alternative food for my cats. Shame on you, Natural Balance!!

Made my cats sick
My cats vomited after eating this food. I fed them 3 cans and they were sick after each feeding. I went back to their normal food and they were fine. Now I am stuck with a whole case and I have to toss it out. Who knows what kinds of toxins I fed to my poor cats. You should be ashamed of yourselves for selling this garbage.

Cat food a little watery
I generally buy the larger cans for my cat. This is much more 'watery' than the bigger cans...not sure why. The cats don't like it as much as the other cans. Although a good product, I'll probably stick with my usual size cans.

Great Product Great Price
Very happy with this food. First my cat loves it and she is very finicky about taste. Second, it is made from high grade ingredients with no byproducts. Third the price was right for a product of this quality with free shipping. It's a winner
