The Best of Chris Rea

Why this unrecognized talent....was soooo unrecognized....is beyond me.....he sang a simple song in 78 "Fool If You Think It's Over"....a song I loved and still do....the huskiness and sensuality in his voice....always....surprised me....but when I looked up on You Tube things he did in later years......AMAZED me....his guitar playing is somewhat less than perfect...and his voice could seduce me in a heartbeat.....Please if you ever are a music lover....Just give a listen to "Highway To Hell"....every song on it is perfection....you will not be disappointed...

I LOVE HIS MUSIC; EVERYTHING HE HAS EVER DONE. ALSO HE IS A WONDERFUL FAMILY MAN MARRIED TO HIS HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEART. HE HAS BEEN BATTLING CANCER FOR QUITE SOME TIME. IF YOU ARE READING THIS PLEASE KEEP HIM AND HIS FAMILY IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.

I don't know how Chris Rea escaped my attention up till now! He has a unique and sexy voice and is an extremely talented guitar player who writes his own music. His talents put him in a league way above most of the fluff that you hear on American radio today. I did some research on Chris and found that he has been hugely popular in Europe since the 70's. This CD is a must have!

I've been listening to Chris years. My first purchase of his music was on cassette so that tells you how long I've known about his music. This is a 5 star cd !!!

Just Discovered Chris Rea. Nice Album of Greatest Hits. 1st track (Road to Hell) has skips in the beginning but have also purchased the Road to Hell CD which has this 1st track. Thus not the best situation but I can live with the defect for thisBest Of" versus effort of sending back for replacement(!!!). Such is life. KS

I've read that Chris rea is more appreciated in Europe than in US. That's a shame. Anyway, I think that his music fits right with my feelings and I don't know if it depends on my french origin. Music is a language, which flies over the world. It is a link between people from various conditions. I like the sound, the voice, the words, and I feel good every time I hear this CD. Don't worry (to buy this CD, You will) Be Happy.

this artist deserves more credit and air time due to his talent, but unfortunately most radio stations are very narrow in their formats and only play a limited group of artists. great guitar work and backup musicians. and thoughtful lyrics on several songs.

Don't know why he isn't more popular here in the U.S. Sounds a bit sometimes like Knoffler. Great stuff.
