A great value in a starter field watch.
Great value for a low cost field watch.I was looking for a field style watch that wouldn’t break the bank, and this watch fit the bill. In my opinion it holds its own looks wise against any field watch in the sub $100 price range. It’s not a Bertucci or a Seiko but at this price range it’s a great value. It wears quite nicely, although the strap is a bit stiff out of the box as is common with many heavy duty strap style bands. I will say though, I don’t find it uncomfortable to wear at all. I suspect that it will loosen up in time as it gets broken in and may well outlast the watch itself. The construction appears good and uses the same case back style as my 2010 905 (diver styled) Expedition which has never leaked and still runs great with a new battery. It is made of resin, and the crystal is acrylic so will be prone to scuffs and scratches, but with a bit of care it should be a great and (hopefully) long lasting addition to my collection. The addition of solar hopefully will stretch out the battery life to 10 years+ if my Eco-Drive Citizen’s battery life is any indication. It is very legible, and the lume on the hands (hr min & sec) is passable. Sadly they did not choose to lume any of the face markings. This is an oversight that is unfortunate since it lacks Indiglo or other light source.Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

Good buy
Nice every day watch.easy to read, accurate and attractive.the only reason not a five star is the strap is on the short side.

Excellent value for money.
All you need in a watch, nothing you don't. Easy to read, luminous hands, never needs a battery. It arrived a week early- great service.

Stick w/ Casio Tough Solar for everyday wear
I was really excited about this watch until I bumped into something harder than plastic. I have used a Casio Tough Solar for years now as an everyday work watch. Nothing special, but inexpensive, durable & I don't have to change a battery. I was hoping this would be a minor upgrade since it costs almost twice as much. I do think it looks better & is easier to read at night. My first night at work I just casually bumped my wrist against a smooth fence post &, oh well, the face is now permanently marred. If you are careful with this watch you may be fine, but the watch face is raised above the rest of the dial (as opposed to inset on the Tough Solar) so the cheap plastic has no protection from everyday wear & tear.

Really nice watch with clear display
Great display, seems very accurate, reasonably easy to adjust the date. After a few hours it had enough power to work and has never run out of power. Slightly thicker then i would like. I like the strap - it feels nice on the wrist and doesn't get sweaty but it is a little hard to open and close.Overall I am very satisfied.

Way below the Timex standard I have know for years
Watched quit working after 6 weeks. No damage to the watch. Not even water damage. Battery quit working. I was told by amazon to contact Timex. Timex responded that basically it was my problem, they weren't responsible. Didn't even offer any help replacing the battery, type or replacing. I am assuming Timex sees the hand writing on the wall and have given up on wrist watches and are clearing out back inventory.

Lightweight Solar Watch
So far so good! Had it about a month now. I use it doing yard work such as mowing and gardening. Very lightweight as the case is plastic except for a steel caseback. Since it is plastic I have not had it on when doing something that could scratch/smash it such as stacking wood, shoveling gravel, or any other various brutish and manly tasks such as dismantling an old pole barn with a sledge hammer. I replaced the cloth strap with a Barton silicone strap which is must nicer to wear on a hot day or getting a little wet. I will update later after I have had the watch for longer.

Disappointed. Unacceptably delicate. HUGE crystal.
About the only thing this watch has going for it is looks. It is a very attractive watch, the solar power feature is a bonus for those who are worried about battery life.Unfortunately, that is about all I can say positive about this watch. The crystal is huge and bulbous. Unless you are looking straight at it +/- 20 degrees the massive crystal complete distorts the watch face. Imagine looking through prescription glasses that are waaaaaay too powerful and you get the picture. Even more disappointing, the plastic case is ridiculously delicate. People who wear watches with any amount of consistency realize they will bump into things, wedge between your wrist and small spaces, etc.. Wearing this watch for 4 hours, and two very small bumps resulted in irreversible damage to the plastic case. I wanted to like this piece, but at $55, I absolutely cannot recommend it due to the crystal and fragility.Lastly, I will say, I am not someone who bashes "inexpensive" watches. I own 4 Timex watches, 4 Casio watches, and 3 Seiko watches. I understand this is "only" a $55 watch, but each of the 11 Timex/Casio/Seiko watches I mention above are exponentially better made and durable, and many of them cost less than this watch. Pass on this one and snag a Fairfield, Weekender or Expedition Chrono (non-solar) for likely less $ if you want an "inexpensive" Timex piece.

It is light, goes in the water and it works great
I love this watch. I received it as a gift and it works great. At low light I can read the time without any problem. The glass on this watch scratches easily. so you have to be careful not to bang it. The good thing is that in the futureyou can always get another Timex at a good price. I am happy with my gift.
