Longevity issues
Second set of Low Beam installed in 2020 Ram 2500 Tradesman. Brightness is definitely better than stock but only got 19 months out of the driver side low beam. Truck does not have daytime running lights. The high beams are still working fine as they were originally replaced with first set of PIAA's. I also got less than 24 months on first pair installed. Going to try the Phillips NightGuide Platinum and compare brightness and longevity. 34.29 for a pair. Installing replacement bulbs in housing is a pain for my truck, have to access through undersized plastic panel in the wheel wells, must have been an engineering intern who designed the access panel and placement. Not Ram's better design ideas.

Better than expected!
Expensive bulb not much bang for the buck... I'd almost have to say it's not as bright as stock on my 2014 4 runner. Possibly because it has a projector headlight. The color is a slight more on the white than stock. After a week I felt I needed to change my review. It seems like the bulb got brighter after a few nights use. I think I'm going to buy the high beam bulbs as well. Bulbs are used in a 2014 4Runner with the projector headlamps- I don't know why the factory just didn't spec with HIDs.

Save your money!
As many others have already stated, they worked nicely out of the box, but failed just over the 1 year mark. They give off increasingly more 'yellow' in color light as they age. The fog light replacements I also bought are as yellow as the factory bulbs were after only 1 year. Absolute rubbish. Go with a quality LED conversion kit. PIAA is a waste of your money.

I wouldn't say "Xtreme"
Just installed these lights in my 08 Impala. I definitily would not call them "Xtreme" white or very blue but there is a difference from the stock bulbs. These bulbs are whiter than my stock lights but not an "Xtreme" amount whiter. As far as the blue the only blue I see is a slight reflection in the back of the headlight casing from the blue glass and tip but you basically have to look almost directly into the beam to see it and it is not visible from a distance although I wasn't expecting them to be very blue being halogen. They do provide a crisper light while driving and I feel that they do provide better vision and are a little more aesthetically pleasing to the eye which is what you are paying for. If you are looking for the dramatic colors and blinding light you are going to have to go Xenon HID which will run you about $150-$250 installed from a car customs shop. Overall I think that they serve their purpose for the money.

"The flame that burns Twice as bright burns half as long." - Lao Tzu
Installed the H11 Xtreme White bulbs in my 13 Subaru WRX in late September 2015 and they lasted until November 22, 2016 (Just over a year and one month). These bulbs were really great. There was obviously a huge difference in light output of these bulbs over stock. Never received any complains from other drivers passing by about brightness or color. The color temp of these H11's was white with a yellow-ish hue which is to be expected from an H11, but it just made seeing things easier that were out at a distance. It made night driving much easier for myself who normally has low light vision problems. The bulbs didn't last as long as I had hoped but that's to be expected from a high output bulb.

I love these Xtreme White bulbs
I love these Xtreme White bulbs. I've tried around a dozen different brands/types of street legal bulbs and these are by far the brightest/best light. I've used the PIAA bulbs for over 5 years - the only reason that I didn't give these a 5 star rating is that they only seem to last 6-12 months and are quite expensive to keep replacing. I've had them in 5 different cars with the same issue (confirming the bulbs burning out is not because of the car)" Toyota Matrix, Ford Focus, Hyundai Veracruz & Santa Fe, and Nissan Pathfinder. Again, loved the brightness in all of these vehicles but had the same short bulb life issues.

Nice replacement bulbs
2020 update: installed another set in my 2016 BMW X3. Work well and a nice upgrade over the factory halogen bulbs. Earlier review from 2011: I installed these in my 2008 Subaru that was purchased in 2010. I also put these in my 2001 VW in 2002. I like the whiter than stock output of these bulbs. They are not silly blue looking and just a bit whiter than stock. I do a lot of night driving and the additional brightness and whiter light is appreciated. My distance visibility has improved. No oncoming drivers flash me and these are legal spec bulbs. These don't dazzle/glare other drivers like the non-DOT and illegal extra blue bulbs out there. I think these are worth the investment.

Installed and here are the results.
If you are looking for a "white light" like I was to be comparable to an HID,Xenon or LED, you are going to be disappointed. As other reviewers have mentioned it is a stretch for PIAA to say Xtreme. They are not extreme white. Are they whiter than the standard halogen? Yes. I installed one and turned my headlights on to compare the two and there is a difference but the "yellow halogen look" for the PIAA (while much less prevalent) is still there. Now I will say the bulbs seem to have (how should I say) better reflective properties meaning objects the beam projects light on seem to have more definition and are a little brighter which is good but not anymore intrusive to oncoming drivers. I judge this by no one has flashed there lights at me. The factory halogen I was replacing was still a fairly new light to help visualize the comparison. In the end I am keeping these for two reasons. 1st: Replacing headlights in my truck is almost laughable for the difficulty and time it takes to do so. You have to remove the air cleaner housing on one side and the windshield washer reservoir on the other side to access the back of the sockets. Yes I said that correctly and I confirmed it with the dealer. It's ridiculous. 2nd: I am playing the odds with PIIA's reputation for long lasting bulbs which is another reason I purchased them. So it comes down to if your sole reason to buy is expecting real white light as we see on cars today with Xenon or HID's then don't buy. There is a discernible difference as these lights are more in line with halogens which after all is what you are buying. If you are wanting a high quality halogen that puts out a whiter (halogen) light from a quality manufacturer, then I do not think you will be disappointed. By the way, I should mention these bulbs are not even close to the look of the Sylvania Silver Star halogen either which are much more in line with the HID look but have a much shorter life cycle than other halogens admittedly by Sylvania on the packaging and there website. One last quick point. Do not be concerned with the blue tip on the bulb thinking you are going to cast blue light or your headlights will look blue. They won't. The only blue I saw was only slightly noticeable about 2-3 ft away facing the headlight at a thirty degree angle or so (reflecting in the housing itself) and at that unless you are looking for it you really cant see it. It boils down to just being a whiter halogen. I hope this helps in your decision. 04-15 Update. One of the bulbs burnt out with what I would call average use. I do not do excessive night driving nor is daytime running light a factor. So in the end these bulbs lasted me about 2 years. Hardly worth it for the price. I am reducing my rating from 4 stars to 2. Thanks again for the read.
