Origami Studio Kit: 30 Step-by-Step Lessons with an Origami Master: Kit with Origami Book, 30 Lessons, 70 Origami Papers and Instructional DVD Paperback – July 10, 2012

I Love anything ever created by Michael Fosse. He is an Origami Hero to me. I planned on taking his paper making classes at Origamido studios this year but I will have to re-schedule due to my house being burglarized. I will continue to buy books and kits from Michael as long as he continues in his art. I have learned so much from his teaching and books that I can't even describe my satisfaction. I personally talked with Michael at his studios (by phone) and he is one of the nicest and most pleasent and smart person I ever talked to. His attention to detail and patience in teaching Origami is unsurpassed. I Highly recommend anything he has ever published to anyone that has a Love for Origami and Paper folding Like I do. His partner Richard Alexander is the perfect match for making the best DVD Teaching with incredible quality and detail. AAA+++ to the greatest team Origami instruction has ever seen.

I bought it for my son. Well, the instructions are good and clear. We had a lot of fun while making origami. Included DVD helps if you don't understand the book. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to spend non-electronic quality time with their kids.

I was looking for a basic origami book for my Kindle Fire. I tried a few others (e.g. Origami Extravaganza), which proved to be inadequate. This is just what I wanted: it covers the classic origami bases and presents simple, well illustrated models. I didn't need the video.

I purchased this for my 7 year old daughter who is very interested in origami. I didn't want to look up YouTube videos all day for her, and we couldn't quite understand the previous books we purchased. Well, this kit was the best thing to get her to learn origami. She was able to watch the included DVD, and quickly learned the basic origami steps. Now, she can even understand her other books.

This is a very nice product. I would recommend it for any beginning or intermediate level person. I discovered I had pretty much by-passed this level. But, as I said it was excellent in every other way.

Not much in the box. The book and CD was OK for beginners or children.

I'm going to be introducing this dvd with instructions to my origami class this week. I think they will really enjoy it.

Part of me thought that this would reinvigorate my interest in origami - but I think it's aimed at children and not adults. The DVD looks dated, and the whole thing needs a tidy up, and an upgrade

Von dem Autorenteam LaFosse/Alexander hat mich bereits das  Origami Stationery Kit  mit seinen interessanten Ideen für Briefe und Umschläge positiv überrascht. Deswegen habe ich mich sehr gefreut, als ich diese neue Origami-Packung entdeckt habe.Man erhält hier:Ein 72-seitiges Heft in englischer Sprache mit Grundlagen und Anleitungen. Übersichtlich und meiner Meinung nach klar verständlich.70 Blatt Origamipapier: ein Teil 8,5 x 8,5 cm, der andere Teil 15 x 15 cmDie Vorderseite ist jeweils einfarbig (blau, rot, gelb, lila, grün, hellgrün, etc.). Die Rückseite ist immer weiß. Das Papier lässt sich gut falten.Ausserdem ist noch eine DVD beigelegt. Neben einer Einleitung und der Erklärung der Grundlagen wird dort jedes einzelne Projekt vorgestellt. In der Einleitung sprechen beide Autoren. Danach sieht und hört man nur noch Michael LaFosse. Sein Englisch ist sehr gut verständlich. Besonders gut gefallen hat mir, wie er Tipps einbaut, die man so nicht im Buch findet, und dass er die Grundlagen (zB Valley and Mountain Fold) öfters wiederholt. Auch hat er ein Faible für Merksprüche (zB Holding before Folding). Allerdings spricht er sehr zügig. Persönlich hatte ich damit kein Problem. Derjenige, dessen Englischkenntnisse etwas eingerostet sind, wird wohl öfters die Rückspool-Taste drücken.Die Bandbreite der vorgestellten Projekte überrascht, so dass ich mich sogar gefragt habe, wer eigentlich die Zielgruppe dieses Origami-Paketes ist:Es gibt Einfaches (zB die Wasserbomben-Variante) und es gibt Herausforderungen (zB die Lilienblüte oder der aufgeblasene Frosch, der tatsächlich auch springen kann, wenn man leicht auf seinen Allerwertesten drückt ;-)Es gibt Altes (zB die bereits im Origami Stationery Kit veröffentlichte Pillow-Note) und es gibt Neues.Es gibt Blüten und es gibt Tiere. Hundeliebhaber werden sich über die Husky-Welpe freuen. Ausserdem Entenvariationen, ein Fisch, ein Tiger und mehr.Es gibt Schachteln.Die Froebel-Variationen werden vorgestellt. So eine Art Blüten, allerdings quadratisch.Und es gibt einige Projekte aus dem Bereich Modulares Origami (auch  Teebeutel-Falten  genannt). Amazing instructional dvd. Just what I needed as a beginner. Would be suitable for children too.

In einfachen Schritten werden die Basics von Origami vermittelt und erklärt. Die DVD ist eine gute und hilfreiche Ergänzung. Schritt für Schritt erklärt Michael LaFosse die Grundformen und welche Figur daraus gefaltet werden kann. Ein tolles Büchlein für alle Origami-Anfänger.
