Kraft Tool SL518 Contractor Aluminum Plastering Hawk, 8 x 8-Inch

I love this so much. I'm a masonry contractor and this is my first 8x8 " hawk. I live in rular area and I've never came across any hawks this size. I've been using larger ones for years and I finally decided to upgrade to this one. It makes a world of difference on my wrists during long work hours and it so much easier to used it on swing scaffolding. Great little addition to my tool box.

I’ve never done any drywall repair before, but our new home was going to require a bit of it due to these large wooden corner protectors that were glued and nailed to many of the corners in the house, which ended up taking off a lot of the plaster when we ripped them off. :( This little puppy worked out quite well since it’ll be easier to store than the larger varieties, and was also really easy on my wrists. It was a little tricky mixing up larger batches of the Easy Sand 45 that I was working with, but it got easier after I did it a few times. After that it was a cinch.I’ve probably used it for about 10-12 batches at this point, and each time it’s been super easy to clean and doesn’t appear to be breaking down in any way. I imagine this’ll last me quite a long time for general home use.

It's what you expect. It's a hawk. You put drywall on it. Keep in mind the size, though: if you're doing a big job, you may want a bigger size, but if you're just doing some drywall around your house, it's a good size.

Good solid quality, very comfortable handle. I do a lot of mud work and like this 8” for small jobs and touch up.It came slightly bent, I think it probably happened during shipping. I was able to straighten it. But that is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead 5.

I didn't know about this tool until I watched a youtube video on "how to drywall". Didn't think it would make much difference but boy does it. The price is just right because I don't do this project often.

I was having a differicult time holding and carrying a fully loaded hawk, I'm small and not very strong, this is just the right size for a petite woman.

I love this small size. I can handle it so much easier to do my plastering. When I opened the box I was so excited! Thanks to all!
