Healing Touch: Enhancing Life through Energy Therapy

Yawn.....
Have you ever wondered if people like healing touch? If patients sometimes become practitioners? Whether people in Sweden have different dialects? This is the book for you.I'm 15% of the way through the book and these yawners and more are all you get so far.A typical paragraph:"They found Healing Touch to be relaxing, restoring and uplifting. It was a great pleasure to be with them. Many of them were either first or second generation refugees from their home country of Tibet, from which they escaped from the Chinese rule over the high mountain passes into Nepal and then to their new home in India. Tekla had lined up translators for the classes, who were themselves very interested in healing and excited to be participating."I'll try to report back on the next 200 pages...

ambivalent but pleased
i am new to the concept of energy healing, took a three-day feet-hands reflexology workshop four months ago on oct 30-nov 1 2015. i had heard of chakras for the past 35 years, and energy work is referenced in the Cayce readings, so i have been aware in some dim sense of an "energy" perspective "out there" for a long time. since early november 2015, i've taken other energy workshops, a two-day retake of the reflexology feet workshop, and a three-day cranial-neural workshop. i have been deeply involved with several types of natural healing for years now, and have wonderful success at working with them: the list is long. it was only last week that i found Healing Touch and this book when looking for online energy healing courses to supplement in-person workshops.notice the word "fix" in the previous paragraph. i intentionally used the word fix (fixing things was repeatedly referenced at the workshops i have attended as something NOT to do but i did not intimately associate it with what i was doing) because after reading less than half of this book it is clear to me that i have been using natural methods to "fix" conditions as they arise as opposed to healing, driving home the point i kept hearing in the workshops. instead of going to western medicine to fix problems, i prefer to use natural healing modalities whenever possible, which can be better than western medicine provided results can be achieved while bypassing terrible side effects. however, if what is relayed in this book and the workshops i have attended is true, fixing does not impact the energetic issues that cause problems to manifest in the first place, i.e. fixing does not heal, so reading this book has been a great supplement to the workshops.good workshops are irreplaceable. in-person instruction and supervised hands-on training cannot be replaced by books or videos. on the other hand, workshops have to move forward and cover a set amount of material, so books and videos, especially books where reflection is possible, serve as perfect follow-ups to, or preparations for, workshops. reading this book is not only helping me to understand and process what i have already learned, it is preparing me to work on myself and to go into future workshops with enhanced perspective, better preparation, and a more appropriate mental state.the loss of a star is for using the trademark name 1,318 times, which seems to make Healing Touch, as opposed to healing in its own right, the focus of the book. i got that number from a search within the book, first for "Healing Touch" (ran the search twice to be sure of the results, and i then ran a search for healing, which produced 1,950 results including the ~1,300 references to Healing Touch, leaving less than 650 uses of the word healing by itself). i felt pummeled by constant references to the trademark name, which was very distracting, and wanted to know if that was going to continue all the way through the book. apparently, it is. but at least since knowing what to expect, it hasn't been as distracting. :)

Definite buy.
I have taken three levels of Healing Touch, and I especially appreciate this book for the chapters detailing the background and theory of this therapy. It's also a great reminder of specific therapies, and encourages me to continue the study. Definitely a helpful text, recommend.
