SAVOIE'S® Old Fashioned Dark Roux (16 oz)

This is a great roux & so easy to use. I don't want to spend a lot of time making a perfect dark roux. This is so quick & makes a very tasty gumbo for a great price.

I don’t use dark roux often. I make duck and andouille gumbo a couple of times a year. So I’m not an expert and my experiences making really dark roux have been hit-or-miss. This product works every time, takes almost no effort, and with it I can make delicious gumbo without worrying that I’m going to screw it up. I use about 8 oz for a huge 3-duck pot of gumbo, so this roux costs maybe 30 cents per serving? Unless you’ve been making roux for years and never fail at it, why would anyone not use this?

Perfect for a quick batch of gumbo, or any other recipe you need roux for. It was not the seller’s fault, but Amazon lost this order, and I did not get it in time to make gumbo for my husband on our anniversary.

Time saver delux

I'm too old to stand long enough to make a proper roux. This one is so deep and velvety it taste like I made it myself. 😋 So yummy good, rich and brown. Don't be afraid to try it. I give it 11 out of 10 gators.

The only seasoning I use for my Gumbo. It tastes just like I made the Roux myself.

This is something I wanted to try that I saw someone on instagram recommend and use in their gumbo. I’ll just say it’s fast and easy but I will never use it again. Just not that good tasting. No short cuts for good gumbo
