Conscious Immortality - Conversations with Sri Ramana Maharshi Paperback

My son asked me to recommend a book to begin his studies into Non-Duality and the title “Conscious Immortality” immediately came to mind.There is no better book to begin the journey into the world of Non-Duality than this book.

I enjoyed this book because it made Ramana Maharshi human.By that I mean it contains many descriptions of the dailinessof his life.In addition, it contains more of his teachings than any of theother books about him that I have read, other than The Talks.There is a lot of overlap in this book and The Talks, but ConsciousImmortality is easier to read. Once read, go on to The Talks

If you can find a copy of this book do not hesitate for one moment to buy it, it is an absolute classic for those interested in the non-dual wisdom teachings of the east. Sri Ramana Maharsi has always taught the direct method of enlightenment which makes him such a breath of fresh air compared to the buddhist teachings of the graduated path to enlightenment.This said this book on rare occasions suffers from being lost in translation. Originally the contents of this book was taught in another language and then captured as notes during the teaching by two diligent students. Since both students attended the same teachings they were able to cross check their notes and did a remarkably good job of it. Sometimes an inaccuracy or misinterpretation occurs however in no way does this detract from the rest of the book which is sheer brilliance.The copy of this book that I have is printed in Indian and I have seen it for sale in at least two locations on the internet if you spend the time looking. I have never seen it second hand. It is a rare book. Another option you have is you can by another book called "Be as you are" By " Sri Ramana Maharsi" edited by "David Godman" as this book is a fantastic summary compilation of an incredible amount of other books including this book.

A must have and easily-understandable treasure text for truth seekers.
