This little Workhorse has been around forever! *I know, I have owned this exact same Region-Free DVD player (MediaSonic) for many, many years, located in my Cinema Room next to my new 75 inch Vizio Big Screen TV. ...So, when I saw this brand-new DVD player from OREI? .., I instantly recognized this particular Model.. ~ I ordered this one, right away! ~ WHY? ... *I realized, with some s.m.a.r.t. HDTVs when-playing Classic Old Movies & Television Shows, they won't let 4k high-definition players Change Screen-Resolution, always stuck with those Black BARS on each side of the Screen? (yuk!) I have found, with this little Region-Free Dvd Player, on my Vizio smart HDTV, I can alter the Resolution to Panoramic and Zoom or whatever! One of those little "intangibles"*Another, is the ability to COPY any Music CD onto USB memory stick, making my CD collection much more flexible. *Lastly, the open/closing mechanism for the DVD/CD is smooth, powerful & Quick. (*not wimpy!)I just LOVE this little DVD player (oldschool). Designed & Manufacture BEFORE the Pandemic-Economy with all those overpriced "cheaper" models coming-out these days!I am confident, no matter what New fangled Music-Playing device is invented? For years & years to come, I will always have the ability to Watch my extensive MOVIE COLLECTION on my Big Screen with NO fees, NO memberships & NO internet-Connection necessary! (simple)FREE to WATCH & LISTEN in peace! (popcorn anybody!)

I purchased the region free product to take advantage of DVD price differences. For example, XFILES THE COMPLETE SERIES costed $75 for Region 2 (Europe). Region 1 (US) counterparts were priced at +$180. True to advertisement, the non-US DVDs played without any problems..There are many reasons for choosing this model over the competition:.1. The Orei costs $35. This is cheap, compared to +$150 for third party altered named brands like Sony and LG. Orei is an Indian import..2. Amazon user ratings are comparable to Sony and LG. Overall score matches or surpasses some models..3. Some components are better than Sony. The latter's construction is so cheap that the tray flexes, when a disc is mounted. The Orei does not have this problem..4. The unit has upscaling for increased sharpness..I did not need to buy the Orei. The freeware, VLC Media Player, can play Region 2 DVDs on the computer screen. If you want to watch movies on a big screen TV, buy a long HDMI cable and connect one end to the computer video card's HDMI output port and the other end to the TV's HDMI input connector. Depending on the cable length, an HDMI amplifier may be needed to strengthen the video signal and eliminate pixilation. Unfortunately, VLC does not have an image enhancing feature like upscaling..Factoring in the expense for extra gadgets, the need to synchronize computer software with TV screen, a long cable on the floor, and less picture sharpness, buying a $35 Orei was a "no brainer."

This universal DVD player is a little marvel! I was a bit surprised at how small it is, and light weight, but not to be fooled. It was ultra easy to set up and played my UK and US DVDs flawlessly. I did, however, run into a problem. For unknown reasons, the unit stopped working a few months after I purchased it. I went through the Amazon tech-support and then through Bombay Electronics to try to remedy the problem. When we weren’t able get it working properly, Bombay Electronics promptly replaced the unit for me, even though the warranty had expired. I am more than satisfied both with Amazon’s tech-support and with Bombay electronics. I would recommend this unit both for its function and for its price as well as the vendor for their willingness to stand behind their product.

Pros:- Will play virtually any DVD format, even some bootleg copies from an old collection.- Easy to connect and set up- Decent picture quality- Can easily ajdust picture size (16:9, 4:3, etc.)Cons:- Remote control has way too many buttons, resulting in very small buttons. Hard to use if you have large fingers.- Design of remote control is not user friendly.

Very happy with this purchase. Tried several other brands that claimed region free. This is the first one that actually worked.

Don't buy, this DVD player stopped opening and closing after a few months. Now I can't watch any DVDs. Not worth the price and there are similar products by trusted brands at a slightly higher price that will continue working.

I bought this player when I saw that one of my all time favorite movies was on DVD but only in Region 2 which is European format and I live in the US. So I bought this DVD player so that I could order that and have it in my collection again. Let me tell you I have not for one second regretted that choice. It plays any disc perfectly, no vibration or noise from the player and the remote control works perfectly. I also love that you can adjust the brightness and contrast from the setup menu which is something that most portable DVD players on the market don't offer. I received the Region 2 DVD that I ordered yesterday and popped it into the player and it started playing immediately with no hesitation and the quality and sound were absolutely amazing. I also love the ability to watch a movie with or without headphones. I already have a friend from the UK sending me a box set of a British TV show that I like and I plan on ordering other DVDs from around the world now that I have the ability to watch them. Thank you for putting out such a good quality product for a great price!

This player plays all formats and is very easy to connect and setup. I did it in under five minutes (80 years old). The remote is not what one would expect because it is designed to handle dvd's, cd's but that said, is still easy to use although the buttons are somewhat small. Would definitely recommend and buy again.

Llegó antes de la fecha indicada y muy bien cuidado.Es lo que estaba buscando y a un buen precio. Hace tiempo que buscaba un reproductor DVD que sea multiregion y estoy feliz porque ya puedo ver las películas que hace tiempo no veía por falta de un multiregion.

I have only used this PAL DVD-player once - it worked perfectly, excellent picture and sound quality. I have only one problem with it, that being my age and poor near-vision, for the remote is so small; however, that is why I have a daughter. I am most pleased with this unit.

Unfamiliar with the brand here in Singapore. Took a risk to just buy and try. Legit. Now I can play my 2 favorite movie DVDs I brought from Amazon, rare to find in SG. Just need buy an additional power adapter.

Did exactly what I intended it for. The product played my DVD's from back home in Europe. It didn't play widescreen but I never bought it for movies.
